Having a place like this in my area is why I chose to live around here. You could spend hours in this store looking at little treasures. Everyone is super helpful. I really enjoyed my visit and will absolutely be back.

This place makes me so happy. It is full of amazing treasures, waiting for someone to come along and appreciate them. Not only do they have one of everything, they value the small pieces of hardware/lighting/plumbing that comes along with antique and salvaged pieces. They also can fix anything you bring in, and can help with lighting supplies and re-wire/work miracles to bring your lighting up to modern standards. I can’t recommend them enough. On todays trip we bought a cast iron sconce from the 1920’s and I can’t wait to install it in our house!

When the home warranty company failed to send a plumber who was willing to fix our vintage pink toilet, I went straight to hippo hardware. Jackson talked me through the process, and ultimately assembled a new flush valve and overflow pipe to replace our broken one. Im so happy and relieved that our vintage pink bathroom can stay intact and that I learned so many new plumbing skills along the way. Jackson is a gem, thank you for all your help and good vibes.

Endless cool home fixtures from every era imaginable and only one condescending employee (who is still really excited to help you with your projects!) :P I’ll be back for more bits and bobs

Owner Response

Thanks for stopping in, Keely! We're happy we could provide you with a memorable experience. See ya next time!

Amazing store for salvaged, hard-to-find objects. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Today I took in a 1920s mortise thumb press and handle door set that was out of working order. It was fixed up and functional in 20 minutes, ready to serve my home for another hundred years. Thanks, Hippo!

Owner Response

Thank you for the kind words. We're happy we were able to repair- not replace!

Amazing source for old or obscure hardware. I had a broken mortise lock case and they were able to supply me with a new case and swap the parts to the new lock very quickly.

Owner Response

I'm glad we were able to get you set up! Thanks for stopping in.

My wife and I stopped in there on a drive thru Portland and we were so happy that we did! So much square footage to explore and so many antique hardware pieces to check out. Don’t miss the basement!
