Great store! The book selection is fabulous- they have a great variety and selection. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this bookstore and will definitely be back. The books are a great  value and at a great price.

You can find all different things here. Movies, books ( almost as many as barns and nobles), games, video games, stuff for all ages. If i would name everything these guys have it would be a book on here to ready check them out.

Omg this is my absolute favorite store I try to go there at least once a week. If not I at least go once a month. They are always getting new things in and they are like the nerdy/geeky kids dream store. They have everything you could dream of in there. I spend at least 200-300 every time I’m in there. They video games, journals, cute little knit knacks, so many mugs with cute Disney characters on them, they have a Harry Potter table, a Disney table, a evil Disney table, they have a tarot card section with astrology books and all shorts of things with that kinda stuff, and they have so much more my thumbs are just starting to hurt. So go there and check out that store it’s AMAZING ♥️

Came in with a vintage Batmobile out of its box and the expediency of service was phenomenal. They immediately took it, assessed it for quality and made me an offer within minutes although the item came without its original box. Text message services made the experience smooth, painless, and easy to refer to anybody if they are looking for a quality place to take on their unwanted items. Will use again if the need ever arises!

Gigantic store with all sorts of items for a lot of interests: music, movies, TV, comics, books, video games, board games, journaling, drawing & probably so much more. Caters to all ages as well. Staff was very friendly and available to help.

No better place to fine some secondhand media and games. We routinely make this store part of our shopping when looking for board games and movies. Tons of great condition books and vinyl as well.

This location is better then the one in DE. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean and stocked. My only complaint is they seem to have done away with the aisle directory they use to have. Now you have to wonder around looking for where sections are located. If you've been to a McKay's they have quickly become a better option.

My favorite place on earth! If your looking for good condition reasonably priced second hand books go to Second and Charles!! It's very neat and well organized. I love that the books are in alphabetical order by author. It makes it so easy to find all the books by your favorite author.

Everything here was awesome: the friendly staff, the large Comic section (which was fairly organized despite the tornado of comic-con goers over the weekend), the books, and the collectibles. Loved it! Definitely will make more trips to it in the future, despite the drive time being over an hour for me.

Great place for book lovers!! Thousands of books available. Authors in alphabetical order by genre. You will find a book here. Can easily spend several hours browsing! Clean, organized, and excellent friendly service! Definitely will be going back sometime!

First visit to this store and I really enjoyed it. Prices are nicely discounted and they had a nice selection of things. I really liked their food and snack section, which had many imported products.  I'll be back!

This place was awesome, seriously so freaking cool. It was my first time visiting this store and I can't wait to go back... with much more time! They have EVERYTHING, books, movies, and comics - new and used. PLUS, you can take your used ones there to resell! They have journals, calendars/planners, board games, coffee mugs, bookmarks, socks, t-shirts, themed sections of nic-naks, etc. If you're a book lover, plan a day it's definitely worth it & to top it off its attached to the mall.

One of my favorite bookstores. It has a little bit of everything for everyone ranging from new and used books, music, movies, Funko Pop figures, and board games.
They also buy back books from you, if you intend to get more books the store credit is the best way to go.

A great place to feed your inner nerd. A juiced up version of Barnes and Noble. It’s a full book store with a massive comic book section, manga and graphic novels. You can find used games for any gaming console or board games. Anything nerd related, you got it at 2nd & Charles. You can spend hours in here.

They have everything 🤩 I love getting cheap used books but they have DVD, BlueRay, Anime, knickknacks, games, music supplies.
I never spend less than 45 minutes seeing all the new stuff available.
Walked out with 4 books for less than $10.
Also traded in, brought 2 totes worth of video games and movies, they only took about one tote worth and I got about $200 in store credit. (Would have been like $100 something in cash.) Took 2 hours for them to intake after noon on a Tuesday but we killed some time shopping and eating locally.

Always a great experience here! They've got a good book selection was well as games/consoles!

The store is clean and spacious. There's a lot more than just books here. I went looking for something specific, but they didn't have it. Even still I found other things and my family found some gems too.

Nice helpful staff, the prices are good for the used games and various other accessories. I like having a place to trade in things I won't use for things I still love. They also have a free book bin out front with all sorts of gems of every genre. It's a proverbial nerd heaven, so if you love video/board games, music/musical instruments, anime, books of all nature then I suggest giving 2nd and Charles a shoot.

What can I say about this place. If you let your nerd/geeky side out you'll be in love. From Funko POPS, retro gaming, comics, books, and whatever you can think of is here. Ive personally spent so much money there th last 3 years. I'm a comic book nerd so I love this place!!

This place is awesome! If you like card games, comics, board games, war games, music, tee shirts, or books this place is for you. I just wish they had more chairs. I stop here every time I’m in the area. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Geek central... in a good way.

I can't wait to see what the new location is like. I have been here twice and I love this store. It was kinda chaos this time around because of them being about to move and they couldn't find me in their loyalty system but I'm excited to come back!

Huge selection of books, really interesting finds, music section is cool

Large selection of new and used books. Plenty of retro games, vinyl, toys, DVD, manga and more. Any time I’ve gone there for a specific book they have it, especially older titles. If you’re looking to kill some time and find a gem this is the place for you.

We get so many books and gifts I love that you can purchase  used copies or new the used ones are in like new condition sometimes as low as a dollar on books that are usually $15-20 each

This place really is amazing. Part bookstore part music shop part hobby shop. An unbelievable amount of books really well separated into categories, a nice older vinyl section with a couple of newer selections as well. Loads of video games and comic books. They are always willing to buy things from you or trade with you for store credit. Very easy to go in and spend a couple of hours without realizing it. Many things are a little bit on the pricier side compared to other stores but the selection of hard to find items can partially make up for that.

This is a great used media store. It is also the only sign of life in a dead mall. You can buy and sell books, records, games, and more here. They have a great collection of graphic novels, manga, and anime items. Great reads and good gifts for your hard to buy for people.

Definitely more than meets the eye.  It's a hodgepodge of new and used books, games, puzzles, video games,  and pop culture collectibles. The book wall in the middle is a neat focal point of the store. They also, almost as an afterthought have a collection of acoustic and electric guitars, and...violins and ukuleles. Website specifically states what it will buy and sell.  Cassette tapes were not one of them.  We'll be back when we have a little more time to look. 30 minutes was simply not enough.

The store had a lot of interesting items but the line to check out was crazy long and moving incredibly slow. I ended up leaving without purchasing the gift card I came in for.

More diversity in products

This new location is nice and huge! I like it. The reason for the 3 stars is because they put new carpet down in there and the chemicals from it are so strong, i was getting ear pressure and dizziness. As a result, i did not stay long. Maybe i will check back in about a month after the carpet is done off gassing.

The store has been better. Years ago the selection of video games and consoles was way better. Not sure if they just aren't getting in new stock from people or what. There is every flavor of funco pop you could imagine if that's your thing. Prices are average if not high.

The employees are always very nice and very helpful. The store is well organized and the sales are good. I have gone here many times over the past few years.

Sadly today I left mildly upset over a refund situation. I purchased 12 comics, 8 of which were for a family member. I had about $13 of store credit that I used as well as $23 on my credit card (total $36). I got out to my car and my family member texted me saying he didn't want the 8 comics I bought for him. So I walked back in to get a refund on the 8 comics.

The refund was basically $23 so I expected to have that put back on to my card. Instead I was first refunded $13 store credit that I used and the remaining difference was refunded to my card. So I was still paying $10 for my 4 comics I kept and I got $13 in store credit and $10 refund on card.

The explanation was that since I payed with a split payment I get a split refund. I know it's not anything personal from the employees but such things are not spelled out on the back of the receipt. So although I could have had my 4 comics I kept fully paid for with my store credit, I got that store credit fully refunded and my credit card paid for it for the 4 comics.

This particularly bugs me since I live an hour away and despite my desire to not give the company any more business I have to come back some time in the future to use this store credit.

I could have left with my comics paid for with my store credit. Instead I left with money on my card and all of my store credit in tact. Yes, me turning around and asking for a refund on comics 5 mins after I purchased is maybe a little bit of an annoyance but there is a 14 day return policy.

The refund system of making sure that I get a total refund of the store credit and only a partial refund for my credit card upsets me. No customer would choose to pay $10 when he has $13 of store credit. Sorry 2nd and Charles, that's not very cool.

This is not a reflection upon the staff at all. The employees I interacted were nothing short of fantastic.

My complaint comes from a confusing parking lot, due to inaccurate signage. Another major complaint is the proximity to the Dauphin County Prison. Not exactly an ideal location.

Lets start with the good. The staff is very friendly and is always polite!

Now the bad. The corporate end. I traded things in and wanted credit. The staff accidently ran it through as cash. I told them I wanted credit as I stated first and it proceeded to take 3 hours of waiting because none were allowed to void a transaction. They had to call IT to do it for them. I waited another 20 minutes and still no sign of my missing credit. They told me there was no time on when I'll get it.

So now I'm waiting and wondering what happened to the credit I was due for my trade ins?

Do better corporate, train your employees to fix mistakes like these

Don’t do the buy back. Mint condition all used Freida McFadden collection they offered 15$ in store credit: I took them back and will make 6 x more on eBay. Should be criminal the offers they give you. Also the lady took my books and I said you recycle or donate don’t you? She like know when trash them. Our schools, Prisons, and other facilities can use this so much.

Penny a page day was horrible. Love the idea of it but they need to change their system because I shouldn't need to wait 3 hours and 30 minutes for 5 books especially since 60 people cut in line before me. Poorly managed.

The staff doesn’t know their own store policies. The store manager is the WORST. She broke items I wanted to trade in after I decided I wanted them back (mostly because GameStop offers more for trades at this rate).
Oh and if you’re expecting them to let you know when your trade is done, give up. I was told that because they called me (and stated their system wasn’t working), they weren’t at fault for me not being able to get back and pick up my trade within the 10 minutes they gave me to get in.

I’ve had some pretty bad experiences here (now that I’ve met the store manager, I understand why), but it’s becoming more and more apparent that the staff has little to no training and the store overall is just trying to screw people out of money.

They have a big banner that says open during construction, but when you go up to the door a tiny peice of paper says they are closed and moving locations. Clearly you are closed for construction.

Worst place to take BRAND NEW books! $12 for almost 100 BRAND NEW books???? So they can up-sale them!? Waste of time these people are!

No wonder they won't give prices on the phone. Do not sell to this store. It is a ripp-off. I took movies and video games for them to purchase. I had at least $400 worth of stuff. A Low estimate based on internet prices. So I put all the stuff on the counter must have been over 100 movies and video games. When I said I needed $240 The Clerk rudely laughed.So the slovenly sloppy clerk starts sorting. In fact he was cherry picking. Only picking the choice and best of my lot. I ballpark he chose 25 movies and games. After about a half hour he was done and offered me $12.50 Ripp-off. Our cat is very ill. The $240 was to be for the vets final visit. I hope 2nd and Charles and the 3 rude clerks gets a laugh out of the suffering of my beloved pet.

Very little value is given for items being sold. I brought in a brand new sealed game which I found on their shelves selling used and opened for $4.50. They offered me a $1.25. That’s robbery. The game sells in Target for $12.99. They should at least pay wholesale price. I found the same to be true when I took in a bag of books.  Will not be returning.

Warning , do not take your belongings to trade into here, they will not only low-ball you to the point where it's laughable on price but also take forever just to process what you brought then make you come back the same day if you don't want store credit! The whole process is pointless

I took 11 funko pops 2 of them being big ones and a vinyl album they offerd me 18$ for them all or 50$ store credit i also brought a 8 pack set of spiderman pops worth 50-130$ they offerd me 7$ cash for 60$ store credit PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN

Beware book sellers!  Corporate policy is a scam. After years of exchanging books for store credit, Im leaving the area and they WILL NOT allow me to use my credit to purchase a 2nd and Charles gift card. Not cash. A GIFT CARD.  Foolish because the recipient would become a new customer. Instead they will simply keep my years of book redemption to pad their corporate pockets.   If I were to die, NO ONE could redeem my credit because  it MUST be me with my ID that redeems credit.   Take you stuff to GoodWill or donate it to the library. The pennies on the dollar simply isnt worth it.
