Love this shop! I went in looking to exchange one of my games towards the purchase of another, and their offer was better than their national-chain competitor. In addition, they had a bunch of super friendly staff who offered me advice on picking out a game my kid would enjoy and I was able to pick up a used copy for a very reasonable price.

The experience was so enjoyable that I spent extra time perusing the rest of the store. They had a lot of fun vinyl records from video game soundtracks, to movie scores, to popular music! They also had a pile of retro games that I enjoyed looking through. Thoroughly recommended, even if you just want to do some window shopping. I suspect you'll find something you like!

With so much retro games and collectibles, the store is like walking through the gaming aisle of Toys’R’Us in 1999 on top of having new games. Service took their time to help me out. I just hope the quality control is better. I had to use Q-tip and vinegar to clean up battery acid on the battery metal prongs on the connector to my Xbox 360 controller.
I’m grateful I was able to get an official Xbox 360 controller instead of third party, but I almost thought I bought a dud. I live 2 hours away, I would have counted it as a loss if the controller wasn’t fix-able.
I didn’t drive specifically to get the controller I made a day trip out of visiting all the Retro Games stores in south PA/North MD.

I have only ever had good experiences with this places. Fair prices on trade ins. And they had a physical copy of a game I wanted at a better price than online. And they sell the nitro deck for the switch. I mean. I want the green one but still the fact they have one is awesome!! Highly recommend this and all just press plays

We just love it here. This location has great staff--friendly and knowledgeable! So many things to look at for all types of gamers, both young and old. They have video games on every console you can think of, plus music, figures, toys, and other memorabilia.

This place is absolutely perfect not much more I can say other than perfection at it's finest. The atmosphere inside and all the setup of the store is like none other. Came in knowing NOTHING about what I was looking for (how stereotypical of me) and asked for some recommendations with a fairly specific set of categories that I was looking to choose from. I was greeted with warmth and no judgement by staff members who spent a pretty solid amount of time with my suggesting games and being understanding when I didn’t love the idea of a suggestion. I was helped by a second employee at check out who was full of fun banter and jokes. Brightened my day up. I usually just go to target and pick whatever game my husband asks for, but I’ll definitely be back here instead. 10/10 experience.

This store is an experience. They have everything you need from nearly every platform. The nostalgia trip you get is worth it alone. Statues, Pops, Games, Clothing, Accessories, they have it all. It's like what Gamestop should have been. The staff was super friendly, and the variety is enough that anyone should find what they want/need.

This is a gaming store with the perfect mix of current and nostalgic video game merchandise, as well as the games themselves. If you are looking for something specific, employees are able to find it without hesitation, or at least know what you're talking about if it's not a game they have in stock. This is the only place so far that I have seen with reissued Animal Crossing cards and plush figures I didn't even know there were plushes for. It was pretty hard for me to restrain myself below a $100 purchase because I saw so much that I wanted to buy. I can't wait to show this place off to my brothers the next time we're in town together.

Every time I visit this store I'm never disappointed. Great prices and helpful employees, a favorite place to visit! Great selection of games, including games you wouldn't find in larger stores such as limited run games. You can tell they're passionate about what they do! Great place for media of all kinds. Video games for sure, but also movies and music! Also found some very cool star wars figures at their Kendig square location.

Ive been to willow street and lititz pike locations. Both have friendly staff! Lots of things to browse. Records, old and new games, game systems, game collectibles, and movies. Also, take trades or buy out right.

This was our 3rd and final stop on the PSP game run of June 2016. Once we walked in the front door I knew we had hit the mother load. This location has it all. I do mean ALL.

First thing PSP games. There's a rack inside the front door similar to the Willow location. However this time the shelf was about five rows deep. My nephew ended up with 3 more PSP games and then he picked up SSX Tricky And SSX 3 for the PS2. BTW all of the PS2 gams were Buy one get the other for half price. A steal really for those 2 games. I think the price came to like $7 for them alone.

Second, I took look around the store and noticed on the top shelf that circles the entire room a ton of classic gaming system boxes. I asked the lady working the counter if they were all just old empty boxes and she said no, every one of them had their hardware which kinda made my jaw drop. I saw a Commodore 64 and it's accessories. An Atari 5200 with extra controllers. Even a Coleco Adam kit that had the printer that sounded like a machine gun. That's a fact. Another gem that caught my eye was an old Vectrex system. If you don't know what that is, it was the first attempt to make a vector graphic based gaming system. Examples of vector graphic systems would be the old coin op games like Asteroids, Tempest, Star Castle, etc. It's one heck of a find. If had somewhere to put the system I would have purchased it in a heartbeat. There was so much more I don't have time to describe it all, however I've added a few pictures.

All in all, this was my favorite location of the Just Press Play round robin trip we made. I'll definitely be visiting again on future trips to the area. My nephew also made out. On our haul today he ended up with 8 PSP games and 2 PS2 games. That's a pretty good start. Definitely check this place out for your retro needs!

Probably the best video game store I have ever gone to! I love how they have such a wide variety of games and systems as well as movies and collectibles. The associates are some of the nicest people I have ever met and take pride in what they do. They truly do put the customers first with not only making sure you have a good experience in the store, but are more than willing to help with talking you through a game or finding just what you need. I have gone to other game stores before and nothing compares to the superior customer service and experience that Just Press Play provides!

We have been to every press play store and out of all of them we like this one the most. It has a different feel for it. We mainly go in for there Blu-ray section but also cool to see all the collectibles and games. They definitely use up all the spaces they have floor to ceiling. And they have had deals on lot of the items we got in the past. If I am in the area definitely a place to stop.

I have to say alone there customer service is the best out of all the stories there. The people are always engaging, friendly and kind to all that walk in. I never felt uncomfortable or unwanted anytime I came into this store. Stop in if your looking for all different current and retro games, movies, collectibles and more.

Great selection and deals on games & etc . They have really great stuff and I've always got good deals. Great staff,really nice people and extremely helpful if they don't have it they'll help you get the item you need. Definitely recommend!!

Love the fact that  the selection  of modern  games new and  used matches the  competitors but has the added selection  of classic and  vintage  games, consoles, and hardware. Pricing for  vintage gaming  could be a bit  better, but overall it's pricing is a little better than  competitors, and mostly matches current market value. Overall I'm very  happy to have this game  store as an addition to  our community. Variety and competition are healthy and necessary for an active and  progressive market for  our local  economy, and I fell this business  integrate well.

The younger guy with the tattoos that looks like Elvis knows his ish, and weirdly knows exactly what to suggest. So does Elven King and gingerbeard Keanu.

They were all cool or helpful in different ways that mesh together and create a vibe of inclusivity even though I had only a vague idea of what I was looking for. They didn't talk down to me or act like I was wasting time asking questions. They acted like I fit right in and was an old friend.

The older  guy, barbecue dad with the hat, is literally the embodiment of a grumpy old man. I don't know what his issue is, but if tattooed elvis didn't notice how uncomfy dude was making me and casually mentioned what I was probably looking for, I'd have left.  His smooth takeover prompted Gingerbeard  Keanu and Elven king to join in with friendliness.  Those 3 passed the vibe check. I don't know the dynamics, but Tattooed Elvis should be the manager if he isn't already because that was quiet, low-key leadership that inspired others to act without escalating the older guy.

Barbecue dad grumbles before anyone even talks to him like he just anticipates stupidity or annoyance. Kinda lame.  He's so aggro for no reason. This would have been a one star of it weren't for tattoo Elvis, gingerbeard Keanu, and  elven king.  Tattooed Elvis  knows everything about everything and picks up the vibes of customers like one of the cool, note passing bouncers that know when someone is making you feel off. Like the, "flip your ponytail to the left side if you're uncomfortable" ones. Tragically, he did not give me a note, but he did sense my discomfort and intervene without even having to step over.

Elven King and gingerbeard keaunu are like the people you want to run into when learning about something or, in my case, buying something I have no idea about for my step dad's birthday. They are excited for what they do and it rubs off on customers.

75% of the staff was the best, 25% made me feel dumb for trying to buy a gift.  PS: Without name tags, I just had to make up my own names, so I hope people know who I mean when they see them so they know who to avoid and who is awesome. I hope the vibes crew doesn't have to deal with Barbecue dad acting like he does to customers to them.

Place has a great selection and customer service is great. The reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is for their pricing. For the most part prices are on the high end, which is understandable for stores that have high overhead expenses, however, ALL of the games in the glass cases have their prices hidden, you have to ask an employee to check prices one by one on every game you might be interested in. This makes the entire shopping experience cumbersome and it's the sole reason I don't shop here often. If they could just place the price sticker on top of the game it would make a night and day difference.

Hi, it's always our goal to resolve any issue and make it right for our customers. I'm sorry that you left unsatisfied--we thought we had resolved the issue. According to our team, the game appeared to be installing fine when they tested it, it just hadn't finished yet. The installation wasn't stalling out or crashing, and nothing indicated that the disc was defective. If you weren't able to complete the installation at home, please bring it back in and we'll help you troubleshoot it. If the disc is defective, then you'll be able to return it.

I like to buy my consoles and games from local stores in case I ever have an issue I figure they would make it right… not the case here.

I bought a refurbed Xbox and BO6 here last week. The guy talked me into buying it on disc instead of downloading it like I usually do. Because of some dumb glitch from either Microsoft or Activision, it isn’t recognizing that I already purchased the game and is making me buy it again.

I took everything in to give them a chance to fix it and they couldn’t. When I asked to return the game since it didn’t work, they said best they could do is trade it in used. “It’s in the policy”. Ok buddy.

Ripped off. Won’t be back.

Worse experience ever went in to sell a bunch of cards most were very expensive and was completely ripped off on top of being ripped of two statues I sold and basically wasn't paid for at least one them

Hi Christopher, I'm sorry to hear your headset wasn't working properly. That's always disappointing and frustrating. Whenever we can, we prefer to take care of that kind of issue ourselves, but some manufacturers (Microsoft in particular) require returns/replacements for defective products to go directly through them. In the past, when we have replaced defective products, they have not reimbursed us or provided replacements, leaving us to bear the expense for their defect. However, if you, the customer, initiate the return/replacement request, they will honor it under the manufacturer's  warranty. If you go through Xbox Support (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/), they'll take care of it, and if you need a copy of the receipt to verify the purchase, we're happy to help. We're not trying to saddle you with the burden of the defect, and I don't think you want us to have to eat the cost of the headset either. This is the only way that Microsoft will replace their defective products, unfortunately. 

I bought wireless Xbox headset around noon and upon connecting it to my Xbox series X I wasn't getting any audio from my console. The odd part is there is audio upon start up and power down. To make the issue more confusing when joining a party my mic was working but I can't get any audio on my end.
The headset is at full volume, audio settings are on uncompressed on both HDMI and Headset audio. I tried all the trouble shooting options and still no audio. I ruled out every user error before returning to try and exchange the new headset. I only wanted to exchange it but was met with a "Sorry we can't do anything, send it to the manufacturer" when one employee said it works with my phone while doing a Bluetooth test.

I'm tech literate enough to know I've done all I can do with my settings and ran through all troubleshooting. I'm open to the idea of user error but I ran through all the options live with a friend and there's no other option but to send it back.

I try to support small businesses but when things like this happen it leaves me asking why bother if I'm going to be saddled with the burden of a manufacturing defect in rare cases like this?

I will be thinking twice about returning and telling my friends to air on the side of caution before buying from here.

I went to Walmart for the same headset and it worked instantly.

I will not be shopping here again unless they take back their defective headset. I'll be advising others to shop elsewhere unless this situation is remedied.

All was going well when I got there. I traded in a bunch of games and a ps1. I found the 1st game I was going to purchase. I saw a Pokemon game in the glass case I've been looking for awhile. I buy I get home and I come to notice it's a fake reproduction cartridge. My copy of Pokemon Diamond I bought from this store is fake. How could you let fake games into your store and not tell me if it's a fake. I'm furious! Game store employees should should trained to notice a fake game. WHAT A JOKE! Don't come to this store to buy Pokemon games. Your may be a fake.

I usually always have a great time there….and trust me I NEVER leave reviews.
So, I tried to return something within the 14 day period and was rudely dismissed, approached by an employee who seemed short fused. An older gentleman in a baseball cap.
and I was told that there was instead a “two day” period that I should have returned said item? Which I’ve never heard of…and also wasn’t listed on the receipt. He also claimed on top of that, I couldn’t even get full credit back. Although the item was defective. Even though the receipt says items that are defective can be replaced with the same item? This employee didn’t even bother to check. Just dismissed me right away. Which honestly I thought that was pretty rude. and odd. but thankfully there was a handful of young men, three of them. that actually helped me and corrected the issue. Like almost instantly. they were so kind and attentive. Please promote them. They know what they’re doing and they have the compassion to prove it.
They were absolutely wonderful.
But all in all, I really genuinely love that place. But this interaction with that person was weird and left a bad taste in my mouth.? I was actually quite confused and surprised by this interaction. And so were the others around me. It was uncalled for.. And no one should have an experience like that.

Edit to the reply: he did not mishear me. lol it was clear as day and was repeated multiple times. it was very intentional the way he decided to approach the situation.  Loud and clear thanks anyway

We clean and test all our consoles carefully and warranty them for 60 days, and we've only ever replaced screens with a higher quality IPS screen.

Stick with eBay. Customer service is lacking, pricing is questionable, and I had a poor experience buying a used console from the store. Purchased a GBA SP only to find when I got home the screen seemed to have been replaced very poorly resulting in specs of debris under the screen and very poor backlighting. Went to return and was met with a snarky attitude about no refunds on used consoles (I didn't ask for a refund) and the employee trying to brush off the issue. Luckily there was another GBA SP in stock this time which had a much better quality screen priced at $10 less than what I initially paid?? Quality control is poor for a business trying to sell such high priced items.

Hi Steven, sorry to hear you about those issues! We always test Pokemon games to make sure they hold a save before selling them and we replace the batteries if they don't. We'd have been happy to replace the battery in that Silver for you. We test, clean, and guarantee our used games for 14 days, so when there is an issue we'll gladly replace or return them. 

Our stores all have the same pricing, the only difference would be on condition-based prices. If a retro game is missing a manual or has a damaged label, we mark it down accordingly. 

We're sorry that you had issues with those particular games, but we're always happy to try and help, whether it's replacing a battery, buffing a disc, or testing it on another system. We hope you'll give us and other local businesses another chance--you won't find the same level of service on ebay.

Unfortunately I'm 0 for 3 trying to buy games from this place. Two PS2 games that freeze during gameplay and pokemon silver for gameboy color which wouldn't keep a save. For a store that offers repairs on old games, they didn't even bother to offer replacing the battery for the gameboy game which is likely all it needed. Returns are no issue at least.

I've also caught their prices to be different between their locations. In an age where I can download these old games and play for free, if I'm buying vintage, it's gotta work. I'll stick with Ebay where I've never had an issue.

Edit after owner response: If you offer repairs and wouldve replaced the battery, then why didn't your staff ever offer to do so? Why post a response saying your business does something to a review that says you didn't? Actions, not words my friends. Its not up for debate. Fact and objective truth is I've been sold games that that don't work from your store with no resolution from your staff but a refund.

You absolutely have sealed, unopened products as well as collectables (all priced regardless of condition) set at different prices between your stores. Old games missing the manual versus with the manual for the same price also. (I actually took a game I bought at Centerville to Lancaster store to swap for same price because other had manual and mine didn't) . For example, your Animal Crossing Series 1 amiibo card packs (sealed) sell for $10 in your Centerville store. They sell for $13 in the Lancaster store 5 miles away smh. I'd love to announce other items to prove it, but I'd rather let people know which store to go to to save a few dollars on the SAME ITEM as the other store.

Now I've lowered this review further for the fact you guys lazily posted a useless response that shows you'll make no effort to be better.

While they have a nice, expansive selection of games for a variety of consoles, their prices are utterly horrendous. When I asked an employee about double checking the price of a game that was marked astronomically high, I was only met with snark and preaching. I manage a retro video game store and I frequent several others and I have never been met with such disrespect; not even from a customer. Nor have I seen such a blatant lack of integrity in a retro game store. Your time and money are much better spent elsewhere.

We are constantly reviewing and updating our prices and are happy to double check them if a customer feels they are inaccurate. As someone who managed a comic book/game store, I'm sure you understand that prices can vary greatly based on the condition of a collectible item. Yes, there are CIB copies of Majora's Mask that sold for $150-200, with worn boxes and other condition issues. Ones in better condition have sold recently for $300-400 as well. We price based on the condition of the item we have, not an average of various conditions. Nonetheless, we offered you $50 off because we want our customers to leave satisfied. It's a volatile market sometimes, but we always make an effort to price everything fairly and get our customers the best price for the condition of the item. If you'd rather take your chances on eBay, that's totally up to you, but I think you're more likely to be disappointed. Thanks for visiting our store.

First off I would like to state that this shop contained a wide array of games and related merchandise. There was no shortage of products to be found but the issue I have is with the pricing and the attitude of the employees. I asked what the price was for a game and was told that it was $300, knowing that couldn't be right I checked both eBay listed and eBay sold as well as Price charting just to be sure I was right and found that an average price came to more like $190 to $200. When I asked an employee where they got their prices he immediately became rude in his responses and told me that I must be using price charting and that I was wrong for using it and that I should be checking eBay sold listings (I managed a comic book/game store for 3 years, I already know this) and I don't find it respectful to lecture customers, especially with such attitude. I showed eBay sold listings with the prices I mentioned before and was told then that they charge a premium for customers getting the game then and there as well as for "hard-to-find" games. This is a bold statement to make when I was clearly already looking on eBay at the same item in the same condition for $100 less than their price. I insisted they check again and the owner, who never came out to meet me or speak on their pricing, offered to sell the game for $250. I refused and left the store. It's a shame that such great products are apparently being sold at a "premium" when their competition is me paying less and having the product delivered to my front step in a box. I will not be shopping here, and hope they decide to adopt a better approach to customer service. I recommend going to other local game stores or buying online as it will save you money and you'll have a better experience.

As I was given a response on this review I would just like to clarify a point. When I showed eBay sold listings, there was no question as to condition being a reason for cost on this copy of the game. I looked at the game myself outside of the protective clear case and was explicitly told that the price was due to a "premium" for getting it there and then, never condition. Along with this, Customer service was fine when attempting to point my attention toward various product but as soon as I asked about pricing I was given attitude and poor service.
