Such a disappointing experience. The owner sold me a defective product (disappointing but it happens) and when I reached out to let them know, the owner offered no concern, no apology, and no ownership of the issue. He was rude and condescending and when I tried to be professional and propose a compromise , he refused to respond and blocked me. I've always loved the look and presentation of this shop, it's so sad to know that it's run by someone with no morals or character
I think that anyone who reads this review deserves a bit of an explanation from Chromium’s POV. This customer contacted me to find someone who could repair his Weltron stereo. I supplied him with the name of a technician that we sometimes use to repair Weltrons. After he had dropped off his unit at the shop, he contacted me again to purchase a stand for his “Weltron”. He asked if I could drop off the stand at the repair shop, in order to save him money on postage. I received a message on a Thursday that he will be picking up the unit at the shop on Monday. I had no reason to go to the shop to pick up or deliver my own goods, but made the 40 minute each way trek to drop the stand at the shop for his benefit. Over a month goes by and not a word, not even a thank you for taking my time to deliver the stand. Almost six weeks go by, the customer contacts me asking how to run the wires in the stand. I explain to him for his particular stereo (which he described as a “Weltron” but was an “Electrohome” he will need to drill a small hole in the middle to run the speaker wires. This is a very simple modification and he could do it himself, have a local shop do it, or send it to me and I would do it. Every option presented was turned down, he demanded I drive two hours each way to AC to drill the hole, asked for $100 to hire someone to drill the hole, refused to ship the stand to me for modification; and finally wanted a refund without returning the stand back. I directed him to our return policy, which was posted on our website clearly stating that after two weeks he was not eligible for a complete refund. Customer decided that his remedy was to begin spamming me with dozens and dozens of belligerent messages on my Facebook and Instagram. He started with my business pages, the started spamming boards that I am a member of, even contacting the moderators to allow him to join private boards so he could post negative comments about my business. Hundreds of posts! Rather than confront him, I ignored him and I blocked him on FB and IG and the moderators from the boards I am member of reached out to alert me to the situation and removed his posts. Apparently not being happy that I was ignoring him and having blocked him on Facebook and Instagram, he began sending text messages to my phone. These started off as ominous messages about coming to visit me and collecting what is owed to him, (yes, the same person who would not travel to me to modify the stand), but culminated in disturbing messages with death threats. At that point it was no longer a customer turned internet bully, but someone who was unwell. I went to the police, shared the texts and threats, the Facebook posts, the IG messages and asked them to reach out to this person and ask him not to contact me and stop harassing and threatening me. Then he posted this review on my Google review page. Chromium has 600 sales on eBay, all with 100% positive reviews. We have hundreds of loyal repeat customers globally who are happy with our products and services; and we try to make each customer happy. Customers have many options to remedy a purchase they are not happy with, in the first 14 days we have a no questions asked return policy, after that we have a return with restocking fee; they can also talk to us to find a solution we can both be happy with; they can also talk to their payment platform to look into the purchase. Instead of pursuing a solution, this person hid behind the internet and chose to spend his time and energy bad mouthing myself and my business. Taking on a personal vendetta of spam, threats and harassment for a $250 item. This behavior was not acceptable to us, and could result in charges being filed.
