I love it here honestly. Compared to Buffalo exchange or goodwill, I’d pick 2nd street anytime. I adore that I can find pieces at a reasonable price that actually 1. Fit my style 2. Are good quality and 3. Great pricing

I had a great experience selling old closet items. If you want market value, sell it yourself on mercari and dont get mad at the employees. I witnessed firsthand how rude some of you reviewers can be about their prices offered for USED CLOTHING.

I made $45 on 2 jackets (1 leather 1 puffy) and 3 sweaters. My Hot Topic pants were turned down and that is totally fine. Employees were friendly and helpful (Ricky O. helped me) and the security guard was very respectful by removing a problem customer to the outside of the shop and not allowing the issue to affect anyones experience.

I will be a regular here and hope to someday be able to buy here as well when times arent as tough, as the selection is incredible and prices are reasonable for buying vintage clothing. Im very impressed.

I went to 2nd Street buyers and also took A friend. Everything was fine but what im writing  about is an employee  named Mary  Violet. She  was vmore than helpful  and went above and beyond customer service

I like this office street they had timely Spring items. The cloth were in good condition and staff were nice.

I really enjoyed shopping there. It smelled very nice and the employees were very friendly. I found a bunch of super cheap items in my budget, everything I bought was under $20.

Not a bad experience. I sold 2 items here different days. Both items Tory burch in good condition. Got a total of $22 for both. It’s not a lot but I understand they have to make a profit. Buyers were nice. Good place for some quick cash and to sell stuff you don’t wear anymore.

Good thrift store to just drop off your items to sell. You get a good deal and can find some nice stuff while you wait. The staff is really nice and helpful.

Fantastic selection of many great designers from contemporary European from brands like acne studios and A.P.C, to Japanese brands like COMME des garçons, yohji Yamamoto, Needles,  Kapital and more streetwear brands like bape, Supreme and Rhude! They also have a great large vintage selection as well.

Their prices are also fantastic I got an acne studios sweater pictured below for only $50, their stuff goes way higher on the second hand market.

They do make you leave your bag at the door but if you ask to security to check it in the way out and in you should be able to keep it with you. If not just remove your valuables and keep them on you, the staff are really nice. Definitely one of those stores that you could keep coming back for more great finds! Store is much larger than it seems from the street! Large selection with a wide range of prices. Got a dress for $5 and a romper for $16, but I saw designer items for $100+. Store is very clean and has fitting rooms.

I shopped here shortly after the grand opening.  The store is bright & feels more like a cute boutique than a resale store.  Everything looked & smelled clean.  During my visit I noticed a lot of designer items, especially shoes, handbags & accessories.  I saw Valentino, MaxMara, APC, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood & Jimmy Choo to name a few!  They also carry popular brands like Doc Martens, Hunter, Rag & Bone, Carhartt, Vans, Marc Jacobs, Polo, Calvin Klein, Tommy and Frye.  They carry all seasons so they did have a great selection of winter merchandise even though it’s the summer.  The store seems to be organized by category but hopefully they will eventually size each category (although because it didn’t seem sized I did look at more items).  The merchandise I looked at seemed to be in great condition (no stains, smells etc that you can find when you shop 2nd hand).  I’m an expert on designers etc but there were a lot of clothing brands (I believe from other countries like Japan etc) but they seemed to be really nice quality.  The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable & the store was very organized.  The aisles were a little tight especially on a busy Friday afternoon but that’s to be expected in downtown Philly.  A lot of stores have great merchandise, standards and staff when they first open but I hope the store continues to maintain the great first impression.  During my visit I purchased 2 shearling coats for under $100!  How does it differ from Buffalo Exchange?  2nd Street currently seems to have more designer & street wear where as Buffalo seems to have more trendy looks & items from popular stores (J Crew, Madewell , Urban, Lucky, Anthro, Zara, H&M & Free People, etc).

Their pricing can be a bit random. I've seen some way overpriced items and others are surprisingly low.  An eclectic shop with  helpful staff.

Overall very pleased. Was there (twice) with a friend to sell clothes - we brought LOTS of items. They bought quite a bit, but not as much as we expected, so we had to haul a lot out of there. Criteria of what they buy is somewhat confusing, but we are learning.

Stopped in to window shop because I like to thrift shop for repurposing.  This place located in downtown Philadelphia was organized, staffed, and clean. I  can't remember if anyone greeted me because I was still trying to move past the smoking security guard at the door.  But I would recommend people to stop by and take a look they have designer brands and regular fashion items gently used.

Pretty good selection of stuff. Much more expensive than Buffalo exchange. They also ask you to put your bag at the front with security which is a little strange.

A good place to buy designer items, a very bad place to sell your stuff. I bought  a few nice stuff from Myiake, CDG and Kenzo. I've also seen some Balenciaga, Marni and Maison Margiela. Good quality, the store is clean and doesn't smell, the stuff was nice, the fitting room clean, I was very happy with my purchases and the experience overall. I also tried to sell a couple of things. The price they offered was too  low  so I reject it. This is fine, I'm pretty sure they have a lot of overhead and it's a free market. Plus, we all tend to overestimate the resale value of  theocrat we bought. What I profoundly dislike, though, was the valuation process. It took them more than 80 minutes to give me a price for three (out of  four) items I brought in, and even after 80 minutes they couldn't offer me a price for the fourth item (a pair of D&G espadrilles). The whole thing was chaotic. I don't blame the employees,  they were all nice and tried to help, but I think they have to improve their system. You shouldn't have the same person trying to evaluate things and also operating the registrar, and maybe you shouldn't buy stuff from people without a schedule. I will definitely not going to come back to sell, I don't have time to waste.I might go back to buy stuff if they will continue to have a decent selection.

they gave me $10 for a forever 21 jacket but offered $1 for a brand new ralph lauren dress shirt lol. also offering 10 literal cents for clothing is insane

The staff was less than pleasant to deal with, and the price they give you for things is an absolute joke. Kind of a waste of time even getting across town to take stuff here. Amazing pumas, adidas and new balance shoes, 32 bucks 😂😂

Good selection but do not sell here. Literally robbed. Sold a bag and four pieces to only receive $10. I just know Buffalo Exchange would’ve given more and would also give better customer service. My first time selling and the person gave me no directions and I awkwardly stared at her, and had to go “……ok?…..” until she gave me further directions.

I’ll admit they have good stuff here, but they definitely lowball you for your designer items. Part of me feels like they lowball you extra when you have something good so they can use their discounts to get it even cheaper. I’ve had experience with that at other stores and get the same vibe here

Sat there for an hour awaiting a quote for my two designer tees and reg, jeans. Not sure how the staff here values, or does their research on clothing, but I was offered $15 for two shirts that resell online for well over that price. Definitely a lowballing establishment. Don’t consider this spot if you do want to pawn your pieces, waste of time.

I dropped off items here because buffalo exchange had a really long line and it was so close by. I was told it would take 45 minutes max to go through my clothes and that I would receive a call when done, but it ended up taking an hour and a half! My items were in excellent condition and most of them were NWT. I was offered $21 for 40 items, where most were priced under 10 cents. Very disappointed!!

Edit: I came back March 28th with my leftovers from buffalo exchange and was told again it is an hour wait. I come back after an hour and I was still waiting. I was number 19, and when I showed up, they just finished 16. I was in the store while they sifted through items and there were three employees working. I watched them work very slowly, chatting and not doing work, and just very relaxed. They said they were backed up which makes me think they need to work faster and harder, yet there was just laughing as clothes sat on the counter. Very poor and frustrating experience.

This is my first experinece with the store and it was a bad one. I took in a few item's that were barely worn and were in good condition. I was rushed at the counter, told to sign something and given a ticket. The only thing I was told is that I would receive a call before the end of the day. The day ended and I did not receive a call. I called the following day and was told that my stuff was donated out because I didnt come back. I never received a call from the store and was told "I must of fell through the cracks" and there's nothing they can do for me. This is unacceptable and not a way to treat a customer.

This store perplexes me. I went in probably 2 weeks after it originally opened and brought about 15 pieces to sell. Some mid range and some high designer.  One of the designer jackets was very worn and they were going to sell it for almost 400 dollars (that’s close to what it went for new). For my other designer and mid range pieces I was offered a total of 25 dollars. I don’t think the people working there truly know how much stuff is worth new or used. I sold theory tshirts to them and got 1 dollar each and they turn around and sell them for 39 dollars used!  I’ve gone in once more and was offered 10 dollars for 20+ pieces of designer clothing. I definitely won’t sell to them again. But you can occasionally snag a good deal (probably from someone who didn’t want the hassle of selling online and just accepted their offer). What people say about this place is true, they will scam you if you aren’t used to reselling. Do yourself a favor and sell your pieces on Grailed or poshmark - you’ll get a better price.

The smell of this place is absolutely horrendous. Like someone sprayed so much bowling shoe cleaner it oozes out the cracks of it. I actually felt a little bit nauseous and had to leave

brought in the remainder of my large weekender size bag of clothes that were the left overs from buffalo exchange, along with a pair of louis vuitton sneakers, fendi versace collab sneakers, and a louis vuitton bag strap.

i said im here to consign these designer pieces will you take them they said yes we can have our manager authenticate i said okay do you need receipts or documents? they said no (no surprise here seeing as all of the louis vuitton they were selling had non-repairable damage/defects that were more likely than not rejected as repairs by the brand) while you’re at it you can let me know if you’d take any of these clothes (fully expecting maybe $25 for maybe 15 or so pieces, nothing crazy) was told there was a wait no more than 45 mins. tbh, entire store smelled like cat pee and i was trying to get past it seeing as they do have a lot of old clothes in the store, but now its just making me think they don’t clean any of the stuff before it’s put out. i’m sitting watching the girl go through my bag of stuff quite literally at a snails pace but that’s really not what i have a problem with i get it its the end of the day and we’re all 20 something’s in retail.

an hour and a half goes by and they’ve got about 30 or so of my pieces on the table and she hands me a piece of paper offering $5 for the stack of clothes, completely disregarding any of the luxury items. upon inquiry, she said they don’t take louis vuitton shoes, fendi shoes, versace shoes, or louis vuitton straps/accessories.

not only is $5 a waste of my time, but knowing that my priority was luxury consignment as i told them immediately upon entering, and then proceeding to waste an hour and a half of my time to offer me less than $0.10 an item…that’s gonna make me write a review saying your store smells like piss and every employee looked like they were wearing knock off tabbys.

DO NOT SELL HERE, unless you are willing to accept lowballing for designer pieces.

I dropped off items, and was told to come back 1h later. After coming back, I had to wait another hour for the buyer. Total offer was $5.10 for 14 items after 2 hours!

For context, I've sold designer pieces on eBay and Poshmark no problem, and to buffalo exchange and crossroads. I had a mix of casual middle range brand, vintage and a few designer pieces. In lieu of the effort of posting on Poshmark I brought them here.

They offered me $1, for almost new fuzzy Vince sandal that retail over $120. And $1 for Calvin Klein 90s shorts. And $1 for a pair of pants, and $1.10 for 11 casual pieces! I took back my nicer items, and took $1.10 for 11 pieces.

With a payout of .10 cents a piece, go elsewhere to sell! Or I'd feel better donating and not wasting my afternoon.

Will not return to sell or buy here.

Wanted to buy my shoes that worth 700 for 10 are u serious. they are very disrespectful and asking me to donate my stuff, and after I leave they will put 499 tag on it scammer.

I’m a reseller and never expect full price going to a place like this but also understand what a fair price is. That being said offering me $1.33 for close to 30 items is outrageous and disrespectful especially after they had me waiting for over 3 HOURS!!!! Shoutout to buffalo Exchange just a few doors down for being transparent, honest, and kind!!!

Was my 1st time shopping here, I Bought Nike shoes and not sure if they were glued back but they started falling apart 2nd day of wearing them. Anything not locked up or on a shelf isn't worth buying. Anything locked up or on a shelf $500+. Definitely wont be coming back.

Horrible store, the new staff members are way too disrespectful and shady. The shopping experience is very uncomfortable with rude guards as soon as you walk in to stares of death giving to you by the employees. This store has gon to hell since these new folks got hired. I use to sell here back when they first opened and the experience was way better, and made way more cash than what they’ve been giving nowadays. This store is only good if u want to donate for petty cash

Just don’t- dropped my stuff, they said 2 hrs. 2.5 hrs and she just started going through it and pricing it, $98 for 2 Burberry cashmere sweater, 2 leather vests, ash boots, Missoni skirt, pucci skirt, among other high end designer pieces. I never thought I’d say this but buff exchange gives you more.

Now it's normal for stores to ask you to check bags, especially in today's society, but I had two and got driven out of the store because the bag check employee didn't tag both of my bags, one of which was from a store down the street and contained a receipt. It sucks, because I didn't even make it 30 seconds before electing to leave due to how rude the security officer just was about the interaction. It's sad that stores feel like everyone has to be treated like a criminal just to shop. Likely won't even bother to waste my time with this place again.

Bad customer service. 2nd street in Japan has  much better service than here. I went there to sell my clothes. They said they were going to call me once my clothes are priced. 1 hour later, I went to the store to make sure whether it's ready. They said it might take for 1-3 more hours until their calls so I've waited. They didn't call me after all. I don’t care about my clothes anymore . I will never visit there again.

Not to bothered by having to leave my bag up front but the security guards were pretty rude going about it. Also had an occasion where it didn’t even look too crowded but security refused to let me in to shop. Overall, just too concerned about security to the point where it overbearing for the average customer

Worst place for consignment. Walk the half block and go to buffalo exchange. They said it was a 30 minute wait, which turned into almost an hour and then offered me $2.00 - yes, just two dollars for about 15 items.  Not sure how that is fair unless they are paying you just to take items off your hands and then give them away to charity for free. It looks like they are trying to make about 1000% profit.
Bottom line, dont waste your time.

I brought 3 luxury bags to sell , chanel , Gucci and mulberry almost new , the way I was treated was very bad.  A black guy who was the manager that day was rude . He would not even talk to me , ignored me completely until a very nice associate , young black girl came yo me to apologize for her manager’s behavior .
Never 2nd street thrift store again

Security at the front door was having a bad day it seems. I put my bag at the front table and took two steps into the store only to be asked to return to zip it up fully and then asked to unzip it and look inside. I was confused as to what they were asking because this whole process seemed unnecessary asking them what they meant by "check" my bag only to have security lower their mask to start yelling at me and an employee also start yelling at me. I told them no to having them search my bag before even getting in the store also while having it not on my person to which they screamed at me to leave. This all happened in about a timespan of 20 seconds.

They make you store your stuff up front which feels very uncomfortable. To have to leave your computer and valuables upfront where it can be stolen at any time feels very unsafe.

I understand the store may be worried about theft. They can pursue alternative strategies like providing customers with a clear bag while they shop to store their valuables in.

Customer service feels very poor in the store, too.
