I had a wonderful experience at this shop and wanted to share it. My wife and I spent a weekend downtown and explored the Strip District, where we came across this gem. The shop’s warm lighting and cozy ambiance immediately drew us in. It’s filled with vintage lamps, desks, Pittsburgh-themed nostalgia, and beautiful woodwork pieces. If you’re into building charcuterie boards, they have an amazing selection. One standout item was a unique candleholder with a cup for matchsticks and a slate striking pad. For out-of-towners, this shop is a must-visit. It’s nestled on a side street between a winery and the PA Market (a great spot for food), so it’s easy to find. I fell in love with a vintage briefcase but hesitated to purchase it. Mindy, the owner, was kind enough to take a moment from the busy store to share her honest thoughts about the piece. After leaving, I regretted not buying it. I reached out via email, and to my surprise, they responded quickly. Mindy arranged to set the briefcase aside for me, which was such a thoughtful gesture. This level of customer service and friendliness is rare these days. I have no doubt this shop will continue to grow and thrive. Whether you’re local or just visiting, don’t miss the chance to stop by!

Store is so much fun and cute. Stop in here just to looks around and brought some soap that smells amazing. Even got to chit chat with the owner who told me about her husband who makes furniture even more amazing.
Thank u for stopping in & the kind words!

This store is a gem and must see in the Strip! Unique, high-quality handmade items - you could spend hours browsing their selection in awe. My husband and I are originally from Pittsburgh and were in town for a Pens game. We enjoyed our visit so much, we made a second stop before we headed home to VA. Mindy (owner) and her sister were so sweet and we haven’t stopped talking about our experience. Thank you ladies for an awesome shopping experience! I LOVE my ornament my boys handed to me w/ the help of these two amazing ladies. We will definitely be back!!

Fort Pitt Trading Co. is one of the places you must see when you visit Pittsburgh. This strip district staple is located between downtown and the trendy Lawrenceville neighborhood. It is a fantastically curated store that truly captures a feeling- authenticity, warm tones, in a blend of vintage and locally hand crafted items meticulously assembled under the watchful eye of Jonathan and Mindy the owners and master designers/creators. A visit will make you want to redesign your entire home or office with their collection. I have seen several interior designs featuring their furniture and pieces. A few of the most stunning examples can be found in the homes of tasteful collectors that I have been fortunate enough to visit. I have been to a Berkshires (MA) summer home, a Martha’s Vineyard beach house, and a Brooklyn loft that heavily feature Fort Pitt Trading Co. pieces. Once you go to the store, you will start seeing them too. They have offerings that are very approachable (buy a hand made cutting board) and the store is very welcoming. But, if you get the chance and you have the budget to indulge in one of their custom pieces, you won’t be disappointed. I have a custom coffee table from the cross section of the base of a naturally felled everglades cypress; the attention to detail is stunning. The fact that Jonathan traveled to Florida and hand selected the tree is why their pieces are on another level. Check it out next time you visit Pittsburgh or the strip.

Handsome shop in Pittsburgh’s Strip District highlighting incredible pieces by Jonathan Moran. My husband and I were on vacation from Washington State, and came across this gem. Lots of fun vintage items and Pendleton blankets as well. We can’t wait to return!

Incredibly beautiful wood decor and functional pieces, lots of amazing gift items, and wonderful people all around. If you're looking for something really special for yourself or anyone else you've got to go to JMW!

A gem of a store hiding in the Strip District. Even though the pieces were out of our price range, Mindy was warm and welcoming, and she took the time to tell us about her husband's woodworking. Apparently he does lots of custom orders as well. The items are unique, gorgeous, and well-made. Check out the joinery on the furniture and the creative use of antique parts throughout the store--and if you can afford it, these are owners worth supporting.
