I hadn't been to Uptown Cheapskate for a long while, and my past couple of times shopping there were nice - a laid back vibe - and I came home with great stuff from each trip. Tonight did not disappoint. The staff were professional, helpful but didn't hover, easy to talk to, and funny. I left with 5 nice new things. I have to remember to think of Uptown Cheapskate when I need something or just have a couple random bucks to spend - i get a lot for my money.

The staff are so friendly and they sell good quality used clothing for infants through 16 year olds, as well as games, toys, sports gear, and maternity items. Highly recommend going!

First time here with my teen daughter and she can’t wait to go back! It’s well organized, lots of options, fair pricing and friendly employees. My daughter was happy with her finds!

My first time here and I will definitely be coming again. They had so many great name brand clothing and shoes, and it was organized so nice. I love how it was ordered by color, and the aesthetic of the store was really pretty. There was also a $2 annual sale going on so I got lots of good items for cheap, and the stuff that wasn’t on sale were still affordable. I would definitely recommend. The cashiers were also very nice.

We had a greeting when we came in the door and a smile. Searched for gym pants and the young girl helped us locate them.  And we got a great sweat suit for gym.we were amazed at how quickly we found the right fit and we will return⁰

As per usual, my experience shopping at the State College Uptown Cheapskate location exceeded expectations.  The store is meticulously maintained and the staff are consistently welcoming and knowledgeable. Staff was so kind and friendly 😊 The variety in merchandise was top notch. There's so much to choose from while being spacious and welcoming. I've not purchased new jeans/pants in the last two years as it's always such an unpleasant experience finding something that fits well. I was in there less than 15 minutes and had already found, tried on and was clenching, two pairs that were the most perfect fit!!!! 🥰 Aaaannd I hadn't even realized they were on sale so I'd spent way less than I'd expected as well!!! Clean, really well organized, and friendly staff. They have a great system if you want to sell. It is one of the only thrift stores where I can reliably find plus size clothing that isn't all just Old Navy or straight garbage from Shein.

I have lived here all my life and have never been here I can’t believe what iv been missing it’s such a nice place with lots of cute stuffs!! They have a great selection but are always wanting and needing more so please donate men’s or womens clothes( men’s are needed!)  I believe they even pay ya! Such a great place! Try it out! The store is VERY well organized and looks like a retail store! Very chic and cute. The girls behind the counter were very kind and informative. TONS of stuff to choose from in all sizes and a decent show selection for men (didn’t pay a lot of attention to women’s this time).

I went in with two new pairs of men’s pants, not looking for payment but just didn’t want them going into the landfill. The associates were very nice and said I could get paid for the pants if I wanted to take a few moments. The store was very clean and well organized, and stocked with very nice looking clothing. Definitely recommend checking out Uptown Cheapskate in State College!

What a great store! Earn a little cash , in a really easy way, for items you don’t use anyway.  Get even more money by taking store credit to use anytime. I always love visiting Uptown Cheapskate! Upon entering, you are greeted by a friendly face, a warm smile, and a genuine "Welcome in!"
Today, I visited with my friend, looking for some business casual clothes for a new job I'm starting in a few weeks. We had a wonderful time, but I only left with 2 cardigans that are suitable for the office. I would love to see more of that style, in addition to the fun and funky (which I did also purchase: an outrageous pair of bell-bottoms!)
I do have to search, which means I should visit more frequently, 😸 because I wear an XS in most items, and those are hard to find for a 52 year old woman.
The environment is relaxing, the encouragement of not using plastic bags, and the points system are big wins for me. I've only tried to sell clothing once, and just a few items were bought: probably because I don't own many 'trending' articles of clothing. That's ok with me, I'll keep coming back!

Most Excellent place to find great deals on quality clothing and shoes. Very large selection for both men and especially women. Left one star off because they don’t seem to want to clean off used shoes. All it would take is a simple wet wash cloth or disinfectant wipe to remove dirt. Why not take the few extra minutes to do that? Otherwise, great shopping experience. And the do give a 10% military discount! Thank!

Took in items that were brand new, with tags and got completely scammed. Abercrombie jeans that were never worn and originally $120, two pairs of great condition shoes, and 10+ other items. They took 13 items total including the jeans/shoes and I got $33. Should have taken my clothes elsewhere.

Sort of ironic if you're an adult male you don't get a hello, a college student, a female gets a hi welcome to uptown cheap skate. Even though everytime I walk in with both my daughters who are 16 and 12 yrs who are both 5'2" I never get a welcome on Saturday morning. Most college student who walk don't even spend money, yet my daughters will spend well over a $150. Must be because I'm generation x, a single father, having a beard, chain on my wallet, tattoos, boots, and scars, flannel and Boston scally hat, they don't recognize style.

What's the point of a consignment store that doesn't discount? this brand new tshirt from target is being sold at the same price. just go to Plato's, don't waste your time here

I have never been so rudely treated in a retail store. Two employees yelled my name multiple times across the store to remind me of the return/buy back policy (which they asked if I had done before and I said yes), then said that when they move downtown, "The college students will spend way more money than you 'Townies' do." WOW! I will never shop at that store again, no matter where it is located.
