The owner Fred was absolutely wonderful! I visited the store today and I could not have been more impressed by the stunning collection or Fred himself. A very eccentric and well-rounded gentleman, Fred made me feel right at home and patiently waited for hours while I browsed with my family. A complete delight!

I had an utterly delightful recent experience with Monsieur Le Clercq! His knowledge of antiques and history were outstanding and the background he shared with me and my daughters about his many exquisite paintings, sculptures, and other beautiful objets d’art was fascinating. He was a gracious host. I found his inventory to be extensive and his prices very fair.

This is definitely an authentic antique art gallery. The prices of the art appeared to start in the low hundreds. It is run by a very elderly southern gentleman. The kind you might expect from old movies. As such, I give him grace for his eccentricities. He has some fantastic pieces and he is passionate about discussing them with you. If you have a love for art, it is a good place to stop.

I have been to this gallery many times…. And when we come in town next week (from Chicago) it will be one of the first places we go!! Beautiful gallery with many different things — paintings, objects, sculptures. We’ve purchased 3 extraordinary paintings from Honore and Kershaw and they are proudly displayed in our home. They are unlike anything we’ve seen. I’ve read the other (not as positive) reviews and agree this is not your average gallery. Quirky and eccentric, the owners are passionate about their store and the stories behind each piece. Take it as an unusual experience in a store of serious antiques. It’s such a special place for us and we always look forward to their refreshing sense of humor (and sometimes even a glass of wine on their balcony). Will see you guys next week!!

My parents, grandmother, and I stopped in yesterday to look around and found such a hidden gem! I lived in Chicago so I thought it was pretty common for a gallery with high end pieces to be locked at all times (I saw that others in the reviews found this to be odd). The collection in this gallery is incredible. Honoré was so kind to us and showed us some really cool pieces. I will say that the pieces are for more serious collectors and this isn’t a flea market type antique shop, they know the value of their pieces and it is curated beautifully. I plan to come back and purchase a few paintings when I visit my parents next. Loved Alkyon and the collection they have!!

We came into the shop just to browse and Kershaw was exceptionally helpful. There was a clear passion and attention to detail. Each piece had a clear purpose and value to the owners. We felt so welcomed to explore and were lucky to find a beautiful piece of art. I am so excited to bring it back with and will post an update when it finds its place in my home.

What a wonderful experience. The proprietor is an exceptionally gracious man who will share his time with anyone who shares his passion. Be patient and listen to him. Be kind. You'll love the conversation and want to return.
