I rarely write reviews unless something is so outstanding, it needs to be shared. Antiques of south Windermere and its sister store 17 South Antiques, are truly the best antique shops in the Charleston area, actually in my experience, anywhere! I have been shopping for antiques, as a collector and an interior designer, for over 30 years. I have not come across a shop with such interesting, and diverse inventory. There is quite literally something for everyone, and I find the prices to be very fair. In addition to the amazing merchandise( I rarely leave without something!) I have to mention the most important aspect of these shops; they are family run by the most wonderful family. Unlike many shops,EVERYONE is always made to feel completely welcome! No pressure, no judgement, and honest advice. Molly, William, Judy and Will, are why both the waiting list for dealers to join the shops is years long, and why the same customers have have been returning for over 20 years!

Whenever my husband and I go into either of the antique store locations we know will find something unique and beautiful. Prices are fair and the sales associates are always willing to call a dealer for the best prices. Everyone is knowledgeable and eager to help should you have questions.

This is a real candy store. The deals vary from vendor to vendor but all of the merchandise is top notch and the personnel knowledgeable & friendly. It's best to go and just look for something beautiful. You'll find it's very difficult to walk out empty handed...and it's equally difficult to pass the doorway and not turn in.
