About This Store

Big Bertha's Paradise is a unique vintage clothing store located in Austin, Texas. Owned and operated by Henry, this shop is described by customers as an "artistic wonderland of gorgeous, blingy, sparkly, filmy fashion fun" with a "huge selection of a bygone era of wonderful fashions."

According to reviews, Big Bertha's Paradise is not your typical thrift store. Instead, it is a "curated collection of fine vintage done in excellent, if eclectic, taste." Customers rave about the store's "incredible selection of highly curated designer vintage" pieces, with one reviewer noting they found "several super unique pieces" there. Another stated, "To the epicurean eye, this is a slice of New York, Berlin, Paris."

The store's owner, Henry, is praised by customers for his passion, expertise, and personalized service. As one reviewer described, "Henry has the store packed with a huge selection of items, offering great ideas with style." Another said, "Henry and John were total sweethearts who made me feel like a friggin supermodel." Customers appreciate Henry's fashion knowledge and ability to style them, with one noting, "They treated me like a princess!"

While the store has a strict "no photos" policy, which some customers have found frustrating, others understand the reasoning behind it. As one reviewer explained, "How would they like if someone walks into their home and wants to take selfies of their items without asking? - very classless to think that's ok then get behind a screen to criticize."

Overall, Big Bertha's Paradise is described by its loyal customers as a unique, high-quality vintage clothing destination in Austin, offering an exceptional shopping experience curated by the passionate owner, Henry.

This shop has such beautiful unique vintage pieces and great visuals. Although I’ve only gone to the shop a few times it’s always been a great experience. The shop owner Henry is really passionate about his career. John has an eye for matching your outfit for any occasion or matching your personality and style. They make a great duo. Highly recommend checking out the shop if you are in the area!

It’s worth a visit because the shop is an artistic wonderland of gorgeous, blingy, sparkly, filmy fashion fun! We made an appointment to bring in some special clothes to be sold. They treated me like a princess! Even though they refused a couple of my items that were too conservative, they made the whole business easy.

A super unique vintage clothing store with tons of one of a kind items. Huge selection of a bygone era of wonderful fashions. A great place to stop by to pick up a new look before you go out partying. Henry has the store packed with a huge selection of items, offering great ideas with style. Easy shopping with plenty of parking. A five star experience, love it. I dare say they had the largest selection of unbelievable vintage Versace clothing and vintage Versace/Rosenthal items in all Of Austin. Just an unbelievable selection. Five stars.

Oh this place is and always has been a treasure. You have to understand henry and his collection in the context of fashion history. To the epicurean eye, this is a slice of New York, Berlin, Paris. Disappointed seeing 1 star reviews from people who don’t understand that this is a curated collection of fine vintage done in excellent, if eclectic, taste and not a thrift store. The store policy for as long as I can remember was no photos. Trash takes itself out I suppose.

I love this place. Especially when their items go on sale. They have an incredible selection and I’ve found several super unique pieces here. John is super sweet and often pulls great finds I didn’t see. I snagged this dress there for Halloween last year and I LOVE it. Their hours can be tricky. But it’s worth coming back.

A lot of good vintage selection. John was immaculate. He had knowledge on everything. Henry was also super sweet. The owner I believe? All around great experience.

Big Bertha’s Paradise has an incredible selection of highly curated designer vintage. It’s not a thrift store, and it says so as you walk in. In fact, the shop’s rules are posted quite prominently as you walk in. This place has been around longer than these people posting the 1-star reviews have been alive. I was in here recently, and Henry and John were total sweethearts who made me feel like a friggin supermodel. I walked out with a couple of incredible pieces that I would not have been able to find anywhere else. I did drop some $$$ that day, but I’ve been here a few times over the years without buying anything and I have always had a great experience just browsing and chatting with the owner. If you come in just to browse, maybe try being respectful of the shop rules?

I absolutely love Big Bertha’s Paradise a.k.a Henry. As an NYC shopper, I appreciate the exclusivity of this unique Austin Gem. BBP is owned by Henry who’s must ppl don’t know he is a top fashion icon. Henry has always made me and my family feel like top notch customers. I read some reviews of customers complaining about not being allowed to take selfies or being told certain things. How would they like if someone walks into their home and wants to take selfies of their items without asking? - very classless to think that’s ok then get behind a screen to criticize. So so sad. Then maybe BBP it is not the place for those unhappy souls. There are many other places that suits their needs and expectations. I’m sure BBP will be around until Henry wants it to be. Thank you Henry for your excellent taste and all the beautiful pieces we have been fortunate to buy from you.

I always have so much fun in here! The guys take time to style me and help me find staple pieces that I will enjoy for years to come. I came in for the first time wearing very plain clothes, and they weren't rude to me at all; instead they hooked me UP with the coolest jacket ever! I also brought my enby tween in on another occasion, and Henry was so sweet and took the time to talk fashion with them. My kiddo ended up with some AMAZING pieces! For those who complain about rudeness - this is not a store who suffers fools. Respect the goods, and remember that you get what you pay for. This isn't a thrift store!
