I absolutely love this place! The clothes are so neatly arranged, and everything is so neat and clean. The prices are amazing and the selection is unlimited. To go anywhere else and pay full price for is something you’ll never do again once you visit here. They have everything from shoes to jewelry. It’s definitely worth your time to swing by there and just check it out, you will definitely want to return. The sales people are there to answer any questions you might have, but they do not hover over you the whole time, they let you browse on your own, and look around as long as you want to without bothering you. I love shopping at Amelia’s. I have sold to them many times and it’s always been a good experience. The dressing rooms are clean and the selection of clothing is large. I’ve gotten many staple pieces here. My only complaint would be that recently there have been some ~relatively~ new, younger employees who are a bit rude. It’s like they’re frustrated that there are shoppers. But the owner is fantastic and her dog is so cute!

I have bought items from Amelia’s several different times, but it seems like every time I go in, whoever is working just looks up, says nothing, and then looks back down.   Come on!  Even toddlers I have met can at least say hi!  I brought my mom in who was visiting from Florida and same exact thing happened when we walked in.  No greeting, smile.   Southern hospitality is definitely not a thing here at this business, and that is sad.  I don’t know the owner, but from what I’ve heard, she’s a very sweet lady.   Please do better!

The clothes are really cute, but it kind of felt like the salesgirls were making fun of me. Would be five stars, but I think being rude to customers is bad customer service. I normally don’t complain about these things, but it bothered me.

I go to y'all's store occasionally and look around. When you go in sometimes there is no greeting, or may I help you...the employees are quiet... if I want quiet I can go outside listen to crickets. Or sometimes I bring my daughters in or friends and sometimes employees are rude. They must be havin' a bad day i don't know.    At least smile!!😀😃😎😎😊😊 I guess they don't want or need the business that bad. So, i go else where. The appearance of the store is awesome! If you want someone to come into your store and buy something it's like hey can I help you, is there something in particular that you're looking for?? I have been to several consignment stores and this was my least favorite.  They did not have a big selection.  Cute store, but poor selection.

Little pricey for used clothes. The clothes are nice. Don't always find something I want .

We agree!  We are at the mercy of what is brought into the store!

The sign on your door says consignments are accepted until 6. Its 5:30, so why won't you even look at the one item I brought in? No, I'm not coming back tomorrow with my worn-once designer label dress.

Amelia's Fashion Exchange is a great place to go to if you're looking for a bargain on some quality pieces. As with any secondhand store, it can be hit or miss depending upon the selection that they have at the time. While I would recommend Amelia's for light shopping, I would not recommend it to those who are looking to sell good quality, name-brand items. The value that I was offered for my items was considerably low and almost insulting. If you care about your pieces, I recommend selling them elsewhere where you can get a better rate.

I took in an entire stack of clothing, quite cute and elegant, and they only accepted three things, based on the "style" of the clothing I brought in.  Six pieces were jackets, which are expensive name-brand jackets, that have pretty much never been worn.
Had a nice deal with the three items they accepted, but the girl taking my clothes was obviously biased, as the jackets and dress were in fabulous condition

The cash option when selling to this store should be more equal, rather than gift card option as payment

I rated this a 2 due to your grab bag promotion.  You only had a very select few racks that were eligible for this promotion.   You have really cute items on the side racks,but unfortunately, nothing cute in the bargain bag. Also the little plastic flimsy bag would not hold many items without tearing.

After reading the reviews I feel so much better! I thought the staff working here, all the times we’ve visited, were just racist. I bring my daughter to shop at this store occasionally and we are NEVER greeted. I hate spending my money at places like this but I make the exception for her. Someone needs to teach them that it’s not Nordstrom… it’s second hand.

I went in to look for something specific and could have used some help but I was not greeted nor was I ever approached by the 2 girls working. They stayed by the register and talked the entire time about what seemed to be personal issues. I felt awkward walking around the store (I was the only one) because I didn’t want to “interrupt” them and I didn’t want to hear any of what she was saying because as I said, it seemed personal. I did like this store but it seems to not be the same as before. /:

I parked in front of their store to go into Starbucks to pick up my drink because their lot was full. When I came back there was a large red-faced angry man claiming to be the owner's husband. He told me not to park in front of their store. I told him if he has a problem he can call a towing company. He won't, they don't own the parking space. I checked. He got mad and looked like he wanted a fight, but I'm bigger than him and he thought better of it. By the way, they didn't even have any customers.

Still one star, the blond sales associate is rude does faces to customers. She might just say its her resting face, but no i've seen her eye rolls to me and others. I might not fit the aesthetic to the store but I like going in to buy something. I did buy a designer wallet, decided to return it just because of her. The store owner was genuine with her facial expressions but not her employee. Please hire people that are nice to your customers and sincere.

This is an update over shopping at Amelia’s for several years. I’m pretty disappointed with where the store has gone. I used to be able to buy and sell quality items there but now it’s weird. I’ll browse the racks and I’m not impressed with anything. I don’t recognize any labels and the conditions aren’t great, clearly worn.

Then, when I go to sell stuff, they hardly take stuff I bought at Nordstrom that is considered “in season”. And they say, “hey we love your swimsuit tops but come back in 2 days when it’s March 1”. Seriously? I’m not trekking back to the store for y’all to buy maybe 2 swimsuit tops of like 5.

I used to recommend this place to people all the time and shop there frequently but I don’t like the atmosphere anymore and I don’t think they have a good grasp on clothing labels.

Prices too high bad customer service...no attention payed to customers

Hello Genesis. We apologize for your experience with Amelia’s. We do stick to our policies but we also are known to work with our customers when we understand a situation. We clearly post no refunds or exchanges near the registers at our stores and also on our receipts. If we would have understood the situation and knew you needed additional assistance to have someone try on and you were willing to return the item within the same day, we could and would of gladly accommodated your needs. Unfortunately I WILL NEVER return to Amelia's again. Today my mother bought a dress for my sister and brought it home so she could try it on. It was too big and we came back  the same day to either get a refund or exchange it for something else at the same price. The sales associate informed was that all sales are final and explained the policy.We get that, I used to work in retail. The store has policies and should be followed, But the way the sales associate communicated with us was very rude. We decided to stay and look around and noticed  that ALL 3 workers were huddled at the table (were they take in traded clothes) talking about us. As a sales associate you should be doing some customer service around the shop and not gossip about other customers in the store. There were also customers ready to check out and no one was at the register because these employees were too busy having a conversation amongst each other. Obviously customer service is not a priority at the shop.

We are sorry you were not happy with your offer at Amelia’s. It is a common practice among resale stores to offer more for a trade vs cash. Please understand we are limited in what we can take depending on our current stock and trends - even if it is on trend and sells well for us. We cringe ourselves at times we we simply cannot bring in more items. Dresses and jeans in particular over stock quickly for us and we heavily limit our Jean selection from February - July as they simply do not sell well in those months.

My overall experience here was very irritating.  My friend and I heard that Amelia's was a great place to sell your clothes and that it was better than Plato's Closet.  Between the two of us, we brought 4 boxes full of clothes including Miss Me Jeans, Steve Madden shoes, items new with tags on them, and plenty of beautiful dresses and shirts.  The lady was nice when we walked in and told us it would take a bit to look through.  It ended up taking an hour, which was fine because we had a lot of items.  Looking around the store, we noticed the items for sale were still quite pricey so we were excited to get a good offer on our clothes as we figured they would offer us more than Plato's would because they priced their items higher than Plato's.

However, after an hour of sorting, the girl had pulled out FOUR ITEMS FROM ALL OF OUR BOXES....none of which were my items.  I asked why she wasn't taking anything else and she said they aren't taking jeans (even designer Miss Me's that have been worn TWICE), sweaters, and items that "don't align with their style."  I am furious because most of my clothes were in GREAT CONDITION and I had plenty of spring dresses they could have purchased.  If they weren't going to take certain items, they should have let us know before we wasted an hour waiting around.

THEY OFFERED MY FRIEND $9 IN CASH OR $15 IN STORE CREDIT FOR HER FOUR ITEMS!!!!!!!! This is ridiculous that the value depreciates if you want it in cash and not their store credit!!!!!

Overall, this was an awful experience, and I will never be going back and you shouldn't either.  They offer you LESS THAN PLATO'S CLOSET....and that's saying something.  DO NOT SHOP OR TAKE YOUR CLOTHES TO SELL HERE!!!!!
