Reviews complain of bad customer service. This man focuses on being good at his craft, which is to match and restore anything from limestone sculptures to Van Gogh. We visited on a Sunday morning and he took time to show us around and talk through a few different projects he has worked on. Top notch artisan.

Amazing craftsmanship! Once they repair china, it's difficult to find the damaged areas. They repaired a broken handblow glass dish – while crack is still visible, the piece is now stable! Highly recommend this shop for quality, promptness, and value of service!

They did a fantastic job on my grandmother's table. It was the first piece of furniture she bought when she got married, and then children, grandchildren, and time took their toll. Chatree's refinished it for me, maintained the original leather, and it looks amazing!

Chatrees is top of the line they have been doing buisness with my Uncles moving company for years. We have a contract with Green Springs the biggest retirement community in northern Virginia. We deal with a lot of Antiques and Priceless Artifacts. There is nothing Chatress Couldnt help us with. They are the best.

I was recommended to Chatree's by friends. A visitor's child ran through my house and turned over a porcelain vase and broke it. I was heart-broken. Chatree fixed it without a trace of repair and it looks absolutely fantastic! Thank you Chatree. The positive review was right. The man and woman who helped me were wonderful. I was a bit hesitant after reading a negative review, but learned by a friendly conversation that this is a "working shop" - don't expect an needlessly expensive showcase and displays. You are talking to people who have been restoring items for many many years - whatever that negative person wrote about alcohol was probably smelling his or her own breath. The work and people are fantastic! I highly recommend them!

Chatree is world-renowned. His work is impeccable, which is why many museums, worldwide, send precious works of art to him to be restored and/or repaired. He is a true "gem" -- and right here in Old Town Alexandria.

Terribly rude on the phone. Their website says they will come out and do furniture repair estimates, and some places at a charge. That is understandable. When I called to inquire about an estimate, the rude lady told me 3 times the charge may vary and that I need to email. When I tried clarifying (when she would stop repeating herself to let me ask a question) she kept telling me that she didn’t know how much a repair estimate would be. She was unable to tell me about how much it would be to just come out and provide an estimate. I understand that she can’t provide a furniture repair estimate on the phone, but she should be able to tell me how much a visitation would cost. Worst, she would not pause to let me clarify and she got rudely impatient with me when I did try to clarify. Customer service starts with the first interaction, and I doubt we’ll be using this company anytime soon for furniture repair. I can’t begin to imagine how awful the process of costly furniture repair would go if the first phone call is painful and insulting.
