Love is here every time I go the staff if very kind and the store is packed with good clothes

I have been to this store twice. I drive over an hour to get there instead of going to the one that’s 20 minutes from my house. The  people who work there are very nice. I also felt like I received a fair price for what I brought in. They also have a great selection for shopping! Love this store!

This is by far the best place to ever go and get secondhand clothing. The people are wonderful. The merchandise is incredibly clean and immaculately stopped. I give this a five star rating any day of the week and I always go there. I love this store.

I love this store. Everyone is always nice and helpful and I can almost always find something good at a great price. Found nearly brand new new balance shoes today for less than 30 bucks.

Great selection of clothes. The people that work here are very friendly and it’s easy to tell they enjoy their work.  Highly encourage going in here!

Love uptown cheapskate. Smells so good as soon as you walk in. The employees are always so sweet and helpful. I found some of my best fitting pants here (for all my curvy girls).

It was full of unique and rare articles of clothing I have never seen at another thrift store. Very cheap, I got two 60$ sweatpants for 25$!!

The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful every time I’ve been here. Always has the cutest selection of clothing, shoes(especially Vans), & accessories! I’m shocked every time on their low pricing… I love this place

I wasn’t planning on coming in today, but I saw them on my drive and thought why not go in. It’s been a while. I’m glad I did! I wasn’t looking to spend $150 today, and I didn’t because I had a birthday discount! The cashier was nice enough to mention that to me during checkout.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. I only spent $130 and some change. I also snagged the cutest Coach backpack! Tags and everything on it and in MINT condition. $450 bag that was priced at $64.99. Not a scratch or mark on it. You can’t beat that. Definitely will stop here every time I visit VA! 🥰

It's a great place to shop cute second hand goods. They have more unique items per square foot than your average second hand stores. Lots of good deals and promotions help ease the relationship between my wallet and my closet. CAUTION: This place is addicting.

I love the marketing concept behind this franchise, and specifically love the Short Pump store. The store is nicely decorated, attractively laid-out and well-organized. The inventory of clothes — the largest part of which caters to women, but there is an excellent selection for men (I am a man) — is eclectic, upscale and ephemeral so if you find something you like, then buy it. There are ample dressing rooms and you rarely wait to try on your selections. It is also a good place to sell the nice clothes you no longer wear.
The owners and staff provide excellent service and are pleasant, courteous and professional. I give them and their store my highest recommendation.

Name brand clothing at an affordable price. Saw a cute little Kate Spade purse for $40. I purchased a name brand dress for $13. Beautiful little shop with helpful staff.

I have been to multiple locations with daughter, she has always found something from your store that makes her comfy and cute.  The prices are very reasonable and the staff OVER the top nice to help us with anything and are super sweet.

I love this store… I go shopping every 6-9 months for new clothes. I recently lost about 60 pounds and just got a whole new wardrobe. PLUS found some clearance items (AE jeans, Aerie top, $39.99 dress with tag on) for $3 each. Highly recommend!!!

I was looking for some new clothes for a work conference and did not want to spend a ton. Uptown Cheapskate had everything I needed and more. Great selection, great prices; definitely a go to place for fashionable, name brand clothing without the big price tag.

I love this store. The clothes were amazing and I found some really good bargains there...beautiful pair of sterling silver earrings, Nice cowboy rain boots, A beautiful designer dress., And some really cute tops!

It's really neat stuff name brands lots of sizes and colors. People I work there really new what they were talking about. Have some great deals! All in all the great first visit! Pleasantly impressed! They bought several of my items and I bought couple super nice wintry tops and an active wear shirt for grand total of $5 (after store credit). A clean and organized spacious store with spotless dressing rooms that have sturdy hooks and kind/helpful staff. Overall Great experience.

Such a joy to do businesses at Uptown Cheapskate.  Efficient, (though new consigned must stay in the store.  That is fair.) Of course we all think our cast off are worth millions.  They aren’t.  Cleaned out an overflowing closet.  I took the cash, as there was not much I was interested in purchasing at this time.  However, it hindsight, I should have taken the gift card, & save towards a high end handbag.
The store is well organized & neat.  The staff is very friendly & super respectful.

I always find the best treasures in this store. The staff is always friendly too. Lately I have been finding vintage clothes that I'm loving. The prices are great.

So you either love this place or not. Giving 3 stars, because the store is really dusty, and i am giving feedback as a seller. For shoppers it's a heaven, they really have a nice selection and good prices. For sellers, it's quite a challenge now. This is second time they didn't buy any of my items, and now i know why. I came home and took a look at my 2 bags they returned to me, and it seems they only looked at the items on top, figured there is nothing they want, and whatever i had in the bottom,  they didn't even look at, because all those clothes were still folded the same way i folded them. So unless you have super popular designer brands don't even bother trying to sell. If you do have something they want i think the offer is about $3-4 per item, no matter used or new. They also changed their policy and stop buying after 1 pm, which is their business, but it's not posted on the website, i guess because each store does what they want since the stores are a franchise. The personnel was always nice to me, so at least that is a good thing. I don't think i will be back selling, not worth the time and a drive.

Friendly folks. Things to keep in mind: they do not itemize what they take and I was not given a receipt for those items. I had to ask what they took and it was difficult to make out all the things as they did not bring them to the counter but flipped through them while they were clumped in a bin with other’s items. Secondly. They may take items that you could get a much better price for elsewhere so just be mindful. Not a big deal if you don’t have designer labels. Lastly, even if you sold with them before and you want to wait for your bags they make you wait IN the store. You can’t go to your car. They say this is because they need to reach you if they have questions but ofc this is a good business strategy so they can make a buck in the process. And it works 😅
I will continue to do business with them I just wish they were more transparent.

*Poor service and very strict buy rules not disclosed on the website.
*Always call before and check if they are accepting buys. They often change the hours without notice because of over flow.
* Ask what the rules are while on the phone. These change frequently. At the moment, if you leave while they look at your clothes, you surrender your right to change your mind on an item if you don’t like their offer. Even if it’s an hour and a half wait to have your items viewed!!!
* PREPARE TO BE LOW-BALLED!!! You’ll never feel good about how much money they give you in exchange for your items.

Don’t expect to be treated with care or appreciation when choosing to shop here. I’ve shopped here many times over the years since their opening. they’re opening were their glory days in my opinion. Service has since declined drastically to present day.

Expect harsh, bad attitudes with a forced and fake smile as well as neglect from one or all of the staff. It’s very obvious they all hate their jobs and are stressed out their minds surrounded by strangers and clutter from behind the registers and onto the floor.

One staff member even rough bumped into me as I was shopping and didn’t even acknowledge it or apologize. I’ve rarely gotten a warm, “hello” or “can I help you?” even on the quiet days.

I gave Uptown two stars because they do have a lot of solid items there, but it’s not worth the poor treatment in my opinion. This is shopping, not war! It’s supposed to be a pleasant and happy experience.

Having worked in a clothing store myself, I’m really disappointed in my experiences at Uptown Cheapskate. I will not be doing any further business with them moving forward.

Consider yourself warned.

This location is horrible. I tried to bring in clothes to sell on a Saturday and they stopped buying at 2 pm until Monday. I came back in Monday and was turned away because I had my clothes in a trash bag. VERY inconvenient. Other locations are much more willing to work with you.

Had a horrible experience. No information on website about how to sell clothes. Show up first day and see no trash bags- OK. Come back next day with reusable bags and are extremely rudely turned away by worker because they don’t buy on Sunday and too many bags. He told us only two bags so my mom said oh well I could do two you could do two. Worker says back “well I see three. But ok” INCREDIBLY rude and will never come back here. Unkind workers and lack of information made the experience bad.

This is my first time selling and I stopped by Saturday 3/8 to sell my items. When I arrived a sign was posted stating they would stop buying at 2pm. How inconvenient! Their website states they stop buying at 7pm. This will be my last visit here. Better to donate my clothes. This was not worth it.

This establishment receives a zero-star rating for prioritizing the purchase of visibly damaged shoes selling for $35 over the acceptance of clothing items that are in excellent condition, tagged, and meet all sales criteria. Clearly showing that the workers don't actually look at the items that are giving. Save your gas and just donate to a family in need or Goodwill.

They don't buy from you unless your a friend or family member. One of the girls mom came in with a bunch of flannel long sleeves and a strech jeans. She bought them all so yeah don't waste your time.

I was told that they don’t accept dresses when they clearly advertise that they accept dresses on their website. Such awful and bad service with arbitrary rules.

The staff was very disrespectful  justin and particular, I believe he is the assistant manager. Justin actually wanted to come across the counter and fight.

Do NOT waste your time, gas or money on this place, especially if you’re looking to sell items. They don’t abide by their posted selling times listed online. I wasted time and gas two days in a row for them to post a note on the door that they just decided that day to change their selling hours to 3 pm and then 1 pm the following day when I got there even earlier. I even called to confirm their selling times. Even if you call, don’t believe them and waste your time, they will just close earlier anyway. The employees both days that addressed my concern of driving that far out and wasting time and money were extremely rude, showed less than zero concern and actually even got snippy at me acting like childish spoiled teenagers. Quality businesses should abide by their listed posted hours online, take appointments if they are too understaffed to hold consistent hours, or post on their website daily when they decide to change hours of operations to properly communicate with their clientele.

this location is trash! 100% don’t go here, go to the commonwealth or midlothian location. the other locations have way nicer staff, and their buying hours never change, unlike this store. must be because the other two are owned by someone else who knows what they’re doing. sorry shortpump, but yall just aren’t as good.

I drove almost an hour to this cheapskate location I called before I got there the lady over the phone said " yes" we buy gently used sneakers. When I arrived I had to wait over an hour to be called for my bid. I had to sign a paper with confidential info on it. The shoes were the newest out 3 pair of newbalance a pair of Jordan's and brand new timberland boots. While I stepped out the building to my car the lady at the desk let the minor child with me sign a paper stating all they would give me was 12 dollars for a pair of brand new timberlands valued 290.00 in the stores or online . They were very rude not only that I watched them pay a woman 50.00 for a bag of rags that I wouldn't even wear. In my opinion the racially profiled me with their nasty jealous attitudes I will never go here again. They sell used rags that goodwill wouldn't even sell plus overpriced NEVER AGAIN JUST WARNING OTHERS....... Especially young black woman these woman are typically racist. I guess they thought I didn't desrver a fair offer o well I went somewhere else and was treated with respect...

This may be limited to me. However, I abided by the stores rules. But then to watch a woman with two crates come in to sell back was disheartening to watch.
No biggie. However,  their sense of fashion for plus size women is massively biased and limited to up to size 18.  So it's not easy to find variety here for us and to sell.
Just a warning to some of the plus size ladies don't come here thinking you'll find 'fashion'.

Went in today at 2;20 to the Rihmond Short Pump location with a bag of ALL brand name clothes.  Was told they were not buying today after 1. There was no one at the front of the store and I politely told them that wasn't what their website said.  He said that was for the entire franchise, not exclusive to them.  Guess they aren't truly part of the franchise.  Found him to be very rude.  It was only my second time there and the first wasn't the greatest experience either.  I will NEVER enter their doors again!

Went in to sell my clothes, was immediately barred because they weren’t in a reusable bag and the clerk said that they weren’t buying anymore clothes that day. There was nothing about bag requirements on the website and I was there four hours before closing when the website said to be there at least an hour before for selling. If you’re selling, don’t waste your time here, go to Buffalo Exchange or Plato’s Closet where the staff won’t talk down to you. They have a better selection for people looking to buy as well.

So I came in to shop , I was shopping for my birthday . The girl told me to put my items on the rack so she could count them . I took a couple items in to try on . My room said 7 so I assumed that was the limit . I was in there no more than 5 minutes . The items that took me over a half hour they put back without even asking. I thought that was so messed up I just left. I understand it’s the end of night but to just put the stuff back when they told me to put items there . I was going to spend a lot of money for my birthday .It was very upsetting . You should have employees with better customer experience .

I came in here to sell and the manager was very rude. I brought trash bags not knowing that we couldn’t, which is fine, luckily I had a tote bag in the trunk. Regardless, I asked her if she could make an exception since I drove 40 minutes and she laughed and said no.

The other worker, who was a guy, was so much nicer and apologized for her behavior.

Worst location I've been to not because of the store but because of the people I've had multiple bad experiences with one person a guy not sure of his name and I'm not interested it was so bad that I hade items they wanted to take and he made a comment and I said I don't have to sell here and he said no you don't and I left with my items I've been trying to get rid of my items for awhile so I went back in but before bringing my items in I went in to see if he was there I noticed he wasn't so proceeded with trying to sell my items what blew my mind was that they didn't take anything they said they do not take worn out items I was shocked because one item in there was from them but I never wore it because I accidently grabbed something two sizes to small because I also have trouble understanding their store set up anyway they also didn't take the items they were interested in last time it definitely depends on the person but I was shocked because I brought in three bags full of clothes I’m not a big fan of them anyway because they don’t give you much for your items. They’re very cheap. I recommend going to Ashby’s in carrytown

Not a bad place to shop but definitely a waste of time selling here. Took some really nice pieces - like new boots (worn maybe twice), several pair of cargo pants, and a dress all with tags attached and they offered little to no money. I was honestly offended and hurt by what they gave me. If I wasn’t pressed for time and trying to get rid of the items I would have mailed them back to the store I purchased them from. One would think they’d pay more for new/great condition clothing based on the quality and price of items they sell but unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Do yourself a favor…donate the clothes to those in need or sell them yourselves.
