We got some Funko Pops that we haven't been able to find previously, Goodfellas Jimmy Conway and Hamilton's James Madison.

I loved the retro gaming items. I picked up a classic Atari game.

Dear McKay's, I never thought I'd say that I found someone to compete with you but today I have. Filled to the brim with wonderful books, a huge media selection, and book themed nicknacks to empty every wallet, this is a paradise. There's so much here it's almost overwhelming. I easily spent and hour and a half here before even looking at the clock.

Best place ever. Used books, used movies, used music, a bunch of new collectibles.

A book lover's paradise! Workers were extremely helpful, the store is huge and filled with various sections & genres.

I went with my.daughter and the books are  endless, they have a lot of movies and games.there is even a big selection for young children, toys, stuffed animals, board games etc. It has something for everyone.

Such a great spot for cheap/used books, games, toys, puzzles etc. They have just about everything you can imagine at this store. Very spacious, clean and friendly staff.

This is the best stop for albums, games, fantasy, BOOKS, and knick-knacks galore. Definitely has something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Huge warehouse of a bookstore. Video games, musical instruments, records,  and more.

2nd and Charles is a really good secondhand store. It has things for all types of people, like books, action figures, Legos, video games, manga, albums, movies, and trading cards. If you want something new, they also have all types of firsthand items as well

I've been in book stores all across the country. Giant ugly corporate ones with no books and little mom and pops shops with tasteful selections. 2nd and Charles presents as the former. It's huge with Target-lighting and a lot of Funko pops, but holy moly they have some weird and interesting books. I mean, any author you can think of, they probably have a book by him/her that you haven't read. Spread across 7 or 8 huge aisles, the fiction selection just bounds outwards. I've found books and editions of books that I thought I'd never find.

Then, after a huge sale, a lot of their shelves thinned out. I went back the next week... BOOM full again. Like I said, I've been to a lot of book stores, but I don't think I've ever quite been to one like this.

Large selection of books, toys, games and knick-nacks that any one could find something to enjoy. Took a part in the exchange service and was able to trade in an old joystick controller with a fair price back. They will offer you cash or a higher store credit option for your trade in. Was happy with the offer and used it to buy a few items. Store is bag-less so if you buy a bunch of stuff prepare to carry it all or bring your own re-usable bag.

While I waited in a long line the one day I decided to come here, it was for a good reason. It was a penny a page day! I was impressed, getting the opportunity to walk around with NO kids, at the fact of how many used books that are in great condition for sale. The prices on books were reasonable and I couldn't stop finding something new around every corner. The staff was kind and informative and helped me get onto my journey of becoming a member of the club so I can enjoy more perks in the future! My kids loved their Easter books and I was able to get two hardcover discovery books for under $2 each! Thank you penny a page day!

Like a bookstore and Burlington coat factory had a baby. Interesting finds every few steps. The merchandising is so good. I was pretty geeked out.. not gonna lie! A few tucked away places to read a book or just take a load off. A+ top spot for gifts for all ages.

Amazing place.  This is my new adult playground.  I love this store , my family and I love to hang out here a lot . And now we are trying to visit every store on site cause for real its very entertaining  been here . They have book. Movies. Cd. Toys. Collectible toys. Games. Mangas. Novel. Every type of book, cooking, zen, magic, comedy, drama, old ,classics , it's an amazing store I would recoment for all ages. By far my favorite store to visit any day of the week any month of the year. Also they buy your good items , books ,toys and collectibles even Musical instruments  is you have some valuable item they will pay you for them we brought some books and got a store credit it was amazing cause they were teen books, in great condition and I was going to disposed them but know someone else can enjoy them .  Really a magical place to spen at least 2 hrs. Of entretament. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’m a huge book enthusiast, and recently came out to Richmond area. I LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s such a welcoming atmosphere , everything is labeled, everything is priced just right too. There’s books of all genres for any kind of mood; there’s movies, CDs, comics, anime (both manga books and the dvds and other formats), DVDs, kid section, funko pop section, records section, new pop culture section, everything.
I had to limit myself to 5 books but I’m still very pleased I didn’t spend over $25 for ALL these books.
Love it. If you’re a book goo-roo, or any kinda goo-roo really this is the place to be for sure.

It’s like a treasure hunt every time you go there. You never know what they’re going to have second hand. The prices are typically very reasonable and when they have sales you can get stuff crazy cheap some times.

The staff has always been helpful any time I’ve asked them, and they’re not pushy when you just want to be left alone to browse at your leisure.

It’s worth a trip to hit both locations, this one and the other on south side, since the selection of books and games can be very different. Thank you for many a great read.

This store is a new favorite of mine. It has a large selection of books, comic, and movies at reduced prices. It has business, Christian, do it yourself books,fiction, science fiction, among many other subjects. I was amazed when I first walked in. I would definitely go back again. Furthermore, it is hard to miss since it is easy to see from the street.

This place always has the best products that make my bookworm and nerdy heart happy. If you love books, collectors items, comics, records, anything gaming, music or movies. This place has it all! And since it's a consignment store they are at much lower prices than anywhere else. You've gotta check them out!

I have nothing against this place infact I go there almost every weekend. My complaints are as follows: comic selection is vast, but it's a cluster fluck finding anything. There is no rhyme or reason to how the comics are displayed it's downright sloppy. I want batman comics. i don't wanna search through 900 random comics to find one batman comic. Their pop collection is also vast. However, it's literally just stuff you don't want to buy like for instance, rebel moon pops or literally the most obscure Star Wars characters or some random Disney pops idk nothing ever strikes me as OMG I need this and apparently people feel how I feel cause it's the same pops every weekend. Their bathroom always needs soap as well. Regardless I will still go and check and see if anything catches my eye.

A lot of collectibles and cool niche things! Definitely know the value of things before looking at collectibles. Prices can be high on certain things.

First time visiting. I'll be back! I love books!

One of the best locations in the east. Great staff and an awe-inspiring collection. Usually everything is fairly priced.

Very good selection, a little overpriced imo. They don't offer much $$ when it comes to selling your items.

It's got the fun selection of a comic con, plus some variety for non-comic nerds. Graphic novels, toys -hitherto undreamed of Funko pops! Buys n sell collectibles, music, movies, games.

Mostly books so if you’re a bookworm this place is it. Toys, figurines and video games are meh. They only deal in last gen and back

A lot of fun gift items and workers that were pleasant to talk to. The store was clean and organised. There were a fair amount of items that didn't have price tags or signs though

I love going here and looking at all the cool things this store has to offer. I’ve traded many items in and it’s a super easy process, sometimes longer than others but they usually communicate that beforehand which I appreciate!

Love going to this place for used books. Great prices on the used items, but they have new books and games as well.

Would be 5 star review if it were not for the poor buy-back program. I feel that no matter how many books I bring in (and no matter what type) I am always offered the same low amount of $5-8. It's usually for a very large number of books too - like 20-30 books. It's really not worth it to sell them your books, in my opinion. I do much better at smaller bookstores or selling online.

Large selection of books and music. They have a videos section too for movies. The sale section at the back is worth a look.

This place was crazy large and very well stocked with merchandise. This is my first time here and as I understand it you could bring in your used merchandise to be sold. They also carry a large assortment of books and movies. I came in for the used vinyl selection at a recommendation of a friend and all their they had quite an assortment pricing was pretty high. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were always there to help if you needed it. This is a very large building.

I think this spot has upped their manga game. A lot more of a selection. Lotta box sets too. (*☻-☻*)

Cool store with so many books, toys, games, and vinyl records. It’s a nice place to look for gifts for your friends if they like this kind of stuff. But I think it was a bit overpriced for used items.

If you're looking for books, comics, tapes, video, instruments this may be your place. This is a very large store with lots of selection. They have about any subject that you can think of.

Fun selection of books, comics, movies, music, games, toys, collectibles, etc.  There's also a clearance section in the back.  There is a lot crammed into one place!  It's easy to bring items in to sell for cash or store credit, just be sure to give the staff ample time to get to your submissions.  This process can take a little time, but conveniently use your wait time to browse the store!  Employees are friendly and the store is easy to navigate.

Lots of books, movies, games, consoles, albums, etc. Plenty of interesting odd & end stuff. Not really for me personally.

This place is hit or miss. They're way overpriced for most of what they sell, especially vinyl. You can find deals if you don't mind picking through stuff.

Their buyback program is good but they underpay you back, even if you do store credit.

Employees are nice enough. Always clean and mostly well organized.

The buy counter is a nice feature but it's a big scam. I'll bring in brand new, in demand books and they will offer me 2 cents.
The other products are nice but the organizational system is confusing. I wish there was a system where you could look up books.

I love this store and never have had to use the restroom until that day when my child needed to use it unfortunately due to how gross the bathroom was I had to have my child hold it. The was mold under the hand dryer, a stain that looked like blood by the sink. All toilets looked like diarrhea and or just wasn’t cleaned for days. I had to grand my child and I left and went over to Chuck E. Cheese which was much cleaner. Seeing that you have a heavy traffic coming through your store, the bathrooms should always be cleaned. Some of the other pics I took is just too gross for me to show

Nothing it organized or alphabetized in the aisles, everything is crazy expensive and frankly half of it is a total ripoff price wise, the staff doesn’t interact with you until you have your money out, and they’re actively trying to squeeze as much as they can out of your buybacks, so they can mark it up 3x. Full price for manga that clearly was traded in and has creases and marks? Amazon has no soul but I’d rather deal with them any day.

absolutely stupid (lack of) organization of their vinyl records. ONLY rock albums are organized alphabetically. I asked about the album I came in for and there were supposedly four in the store and yet I left empty handed. do better

I used to be a frequent customer a few years back when I lived nearby. The state of this place has become depressing. The games sections are haphazardly thrown together, with accessories lying all over the place and stuff just in walkways(this was 10 minutes after they opened). Charging $60-$100 for retro consoles that don't come with cords or controllers. Overpriced used books and records. And the movies mainly consist of used blurays that are almost the same price as getting them used. And worst of all the store is absolutely crammed with expensive, low quality "fan merch" you could find at Hot Topic or Spencer's. This is a far cry from the 2nd & Charles I used to love. The BAM corporate mentality is on full display now.

I used to love 2nd and charles. This location however is terrible. They are charging above retail price for used items. I found a dirty copy of pillars of the earth selling for more than retail and was able to find the same copy on amazon for the fair price. They are price gouging and scalping things like squishmallows and toys. I have photos to prove this that i will attach. And to top it all off, this place smells so bad. It is not the “old book pages” smell you want when you go to a book store- it is a “this hvac system hasnt seen maintenance since the building was erected” smell. Just look at the vents, they’re disgusting. Better off going to barnes and noble, at least they wont scalp you.
