Great thrift store! Staff is super friendly and they keep up the store very well.

On a ski trip and forgot to pack extra pants for our daughter. Stopped here and ended up with a heaping basking full of stuff for $35! (Including several pair of pants.) Highly recommend!

10 stars if could give it. A jem of a place with a pleasant staff and quality items at reasonable prices. A place where we can support our community and be proud of it.

Selection varies but I've never not found something. Their prices are reasonable and they have everything from furniture to books to kids stuff. The staff are always friendly and the place is clean. They require masks over the mouth and nose, and require you to yse the provided sanitizer prior to entering.

Hope, previously and still known as "A.C.A.G" (pronounced "ack-ag" by all the locals) is the real thrift shop of Middlebury. All kinds of good stuff here, they always have a nice selection of books, vinyl records, dishes and kitchenware, and clothing. In the back room they have furniture and appliances. A treasure trove, truly a gem of Middlebury Vermont.

Always a fun place with a huge selection of just about anything you can imagine from clothes to toys to books, and cookware!

Fun, quirky, eclectic resale store with something for just about everyone. Prices vary in accordance with the item (most are priced to sell quick and are very affordable) and monies raised go to fund good causes. Inventory keeps turning over and changes constantly as it is donation based. My wife and her friends go every week and they always find something interesting. Check it out.

Great place, but lately the prices have gone up, WAY up! May have to change retail stores🤔
Manager change, but  you can no longer buy in bulk. (Old wool sweaters for blankets, polar fleece, tee shirts..ect.)

Wished the prices were better, many items more expensive than new.

Large store goods are well taken care of.

Traveled almost an hour to check out this store for my resale business. I was VERY impressed with their large selection of books (vintage cookbooks, kids, sports etc.) and the prices where really great!! I didn't pay over $1.50 per book. Not a huge selection of clothes at all! Seems like they are very selective with what they allow on the hangers, and what was on the hangers seemed pretty pricey for a thrift shop. Staff was a bit "snotty" and followed my African American boyfriend around the store the entire time. Bless his heart that he didn't seem to notice.

There is a good variety of products there right now and items are in good condition.  Prices are a bit high for a "thrift" store though.

Always worth a stop to see what new treasures could be there.

Nice and friendly place for 2nd hand shopping.  A great community asset.

Update Oct 2024 - it seems like some of their prices have come down but I think many things are still priced too high for a thrift store.

While I appreciate and support their mission, the resale store part of the organization used to be a great resource for our community and now they have high prices in the store and will not take donations of decent furniture or sporting goods.

Store is organized well.  Clothing items can be a little outdated, and overpriced comparatively, but it is a non profit organization, so..... M

Wow... is all I I have to say about this place and some lady that works there named Laura!

I MISTAKENLY walked in there after hearing that HOPE had showers available for people to utilize that needed one. I SIMPLY ASKED this Laura lady about where to go and who to see about such showers!

BIG MISTAKE!!!

THIS LADY ANGRILY SNAPPED AT ME in a very snotty voice saying "WE ARE A THRIFT STORE WE DON'T GIVE PEOPLE SHOWERS AND WE DON'T HAVE SHOWERS HERE. I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU GET A SHOWER AT!"

AS I was leaving... I simply stated she would see my bad review soon for being treated in such a way...

She then SCREAMED at me "GOOD! I DON'T CARE! DO IT!" as I walked out...

My mind was completely blown by this!

If this is how HOPE treats the people that come to them that need help in dire times of need, claiming to HELP people in poverty, they are truly pathetic!

I will never go back nor will I ever try to use anything from HOPE again even though I am homeless!

I would rather bathe in the bushes down by the river next time instead of a shower there.

Shame on you HOPE!!!

For a place who appears to want to help the community with access to used goods, they do not seem to understand what something that is used actually looks like. Tried to bring a very comfortable great condition couch and they complained the coloring was off.. which would indicate someone sat on it at one point. very sadly ended up going to the dump instead of someone's house. Tried to do the right thing and they were nit picky and rude.

Prices are mysterious at best and once figured out, are higher than necessary. One staff member seemed....annoyed when I inquired at checkout if I could open something to inspect it before buying.

Hope resale store Warehouse is unbelievable picky I just rather go to Goodwill to donate my things then dealing with them
