I have shopped at Modao for years as well as consigned many pieces of clothing. I enjoy the staff and how they share the newly consigned items on social media. I always come away with some great pieces to add to my wardrobe. Best resale shop in the Vancouver area.

Great selection , great prices and super friendly staff

Read the reviews and saw a few comments about cockiness and disrespect from the owner. Went there to check the place out, and they were super nice, helpful and friendly.
I’m glad I didn’t judge based off some bad reviews, would have missed out on the Quality clothings/accessories at a very reasonable price.

A Good place to shop for nice things .

We love these owners and the people that work there. So inviting! They will help style you! And their collection of lightly used clothes and accessories are high end at a true resale price. We are so lucky to have a store like this.

I wanted to update my feedback because this store improved so much on their costumer service and everything, its one of my family to go places and I always find good deal on designer items. If you ever in the aria don't miss out and stop by for awesome shopping.

Such a fun place to shop with very high quality items and brands. A few of my first luxury brand items are from Modao. I’ve also sold items to them and it’s a very easy experience. My only feedback is that they close at 5pm and are only open Saturday, so it makes it hard for working individuals to attend sales or schedule buy outs with them.

They have a great selection here! Lots of vacation outfits, workwear, workout clothes, and designer items. I was surprised how much Anthropologie and Free People they had! I got a pair of flowy pants and a top.

Impressive quality clothes and always something new. I have whole wardrobes of Modao tops, dresses, jackets and shoes. And needless to say, the prices are fantastic.

I'm a regular resale shopper and have been for years. I was very impressed by Modao's selection (so many beautiful dresses!), uncrowded layout, and the friendliness and genuine personalities of the staff. The prices seemed reasonable for the quality and brands they sell. Christi was so patient with the volume of clothing I tried on, and was never pushy or overwhelming in any way, which I greatly appreciate in a salesperson. I will definitely be visiting Modao again.

I love Modao! I’ve been delighted to find a few luxury items on my wish list that I wouldn’t normally spend the $ on. I’ve been too lazy to consign there so I haven’t been through that process, and I do wish they at least had an exchange policy, but I know exactly what I’m getting into so it is what it is. They have great customer service!

LuLu Lemon for an amazing price.. yes please. I have only had the staff be friendly and welcoming. I have never felt like they were snobby or uninviting.  One of the staff or owner( I have no idea who he belonged to) had their  yellow lab there loving on the customers. I wanted to take him home..sadly he was not for sale. I settled on a LuLu jacket that was super cute instead.

This business is one of the treasures of the local Vancouver community. The staff is kind, thoughtful and so helpful! Worth the time if you love finding high end garments and accessories for awesome prices.

A great place to get quality gentley used upscale clothes for great prices.

What a great little gem in Hazel Dell! They had some great St John pieces for new arrivals which I had to purchase along with a Sanctuary jacket and brand new silk top. You can tell the owners a lot of effort into curating their selection as the store was clean, well organized and easy to browse. A lot of great brands like Burberry, Vince, Theory, Eileen Fisher can be found here too. Will be back!

I was searching for a specific high-end purse, and something told me I could find it here! After a positive and fun conversation, we figured out which bag I was looking for (designer, etc) and there it was! I know this is just by chance, but it was such a great experience, and they have SUCH a lovely stock of gorgeous, high end purses, wallets, bags, and clothing, that I just had to share! I'll definitely be returning; what a great experience!

It’s a cute shop, but pretty crowded with selective options. If it weren’t for the nice store employees, I’d be giving this place 1 star. A little on the spendy side but that’s what they’re going for.

As other reviews have mentioned, the atmosphere here is quite snooty. Had the pleasure of seeing the owner Joni for the first time and immediately could see why many don’t like her. Not the friendliest and her demeanor will show that.

Their selling process is also not entirely clear. When I asked about it, I was told they pay you what they think your items are worth. No hard percentage or anything, so for all we know, they could be buying your items for an extremely low amount, and then selling them for an insane amount once they hit the floor. As a store that prides itself in resell, the buying process should be much more transparent.

I really wanted to like this store, I really did. Unfortunately, I just couldn't. First, this is not a high end designer resale shop. I think the owner is actually bothered by luxury brands. It's a middle of the road, with a few contemporary designer (at best) pieces, resale shop. That in and of itself wouldn't be an issue at all except that they seem to choose the worst pieces produced by those designers. The "mint" condition another reviewer mentions isn't necessarily a good thing, especially not here. Items that still have tags or are in "mint" condition are often that way because their owners didn't wear them. Typically, that's because they were not as flattering as they had hoped or are just plain ugly. Building a store around that concept is a horrible idea and if you want to see an example of why, look no further. Secondly, the owner seems to believe that her age appropriate, but somewhat dated, style is the style everyone should love. She's older and that's reflected throughout the store. If you still like flowy animal print tops and leggings, welcome home! Otherwise, get ready to be disappointed as the shoe selection is awful and the handbags are sub par. Perhaps a niche has been carved out in their little corner of the woods, which is great! Run with that but don't advertise yourself as a high end/luxury resale boutique when you aren't. I agree with another reviewer that the prices are a bit too high. 80.00 for a pair of used random off brand boots is too much. The picture of the two owners on their website says it all. If that's the style you like, this is the place for you. If you like actual high end/luxury items, go elsewhere.

Hi Nellie. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our attempt to solve this issue when we spoke on the phone weeks ago. As I recall, Nicole showed you the items we were interested in and made you our standard offer of store credit or cash. You chose the store credit and spent it on new to you treasures immediately before leaving our store. The next day you came in and spoke to Mary about a dress that we bought from you that you said you did not recall was in the batch of items we purchased from you. We, in good faith, gave it back to you, no questions asked. Later in the day you called back and inquired about another dress to see if it was in the store. We verified that it was, and then you identified yourself and said that you wanted that one back as well. At that point we realized you were obviously discontent with the situation, so we proceeded to pull all the items that we purchased from you off the floor then offering you the choice of picking up your items and paying us for the things you bought with the store credit or leaving it as it was. Mary confirmed multiple times to ensure you were comfortable with your decision to leave it as it was, in which you said you were and thanked her repeatedly for helping you out. We left the situation feeling like it was resolved, and that you were content, so it feels a little confusing to read this terribly negative post many weeks later. I do apologize for the confusion here, but I am confident that we did everything we could have done to make it right and now you’ve changed your mind. If you have any further issues, questions or concerns, please reach out to me, the store owner. I’d be happy to chat. 

Experienced a very unethical & low treatment. Went in for my first consignment on March 19th & Nicole took my bags to sort in the back room. I had a lot of bags & I had my little one year old boy with me in his stroller. When she called me back to go over what she chose, I saw 8 items on the rack that she chose & we agreed on a price. I was not given a receipt. That evening at home I noticed two dresses & a shirt missing from my bags that she did not have on the rack with the chosen. The next morning I called & Mary, the lady at the front desk looked at my account & says they took 11 items, when I only gave 8. 8 that I saw & agreed on the price. Please take pictures of everything you bring in or watch when they sort through your clothes, don’t let them take advantage of you! I thought this place was high end & trusted them.

I will not going to try to sell my items here again. The store employees are very friendly and courteous but the owner has an attitude. When I first tried to sell my items the owner offer me $100 for 10 brandnew bags, shoes and wallet that she took from me. I thought at first it was a great deal but when I got home I realized that I got rip off. I should get more money for my items. I tried to sell my louis vuitton and chanel bag when I went back the second time, I had high hope that they will offer me a good price since it’s a luxury item the owner only want to take it from me for less than $500. I didn’t took an offer and she gave me an attitude for telling me that I should sell it myself and see if anyone will buy it for the price I want. I am not asking for a big amount I just want them to be fair with the price and not giving you a lowball offers, I feel like this shop/owner are trying to rip off their customer for buying the items in a very low price then they will sell it for twice the amount that they got paid you for your items. I AM NOT GOING BACK IN THIS SHOP ANYMORE!!!

My first experience at Modao was not a good one. I brought in high end items of which they only cherry picked the most high end ones (Free People blouses that retail $150..and up) and paid me $50.00 cash or $60.00 in store credit. I never saw my items sold in the store and believe they may take the high end items and sell them on Poshmark and other platforms. I will never take my items there again. No one likes to be taken advantage of and that is exactly what they did.

I’m the past, this was my favorite store. I bought a beautiful Tiffany ring. A handful of Coach bags. Because of Covid, they had to resort to Facebook lives to sell clothing, which is awesome. I buy a lot of clothes from a great boutique in Oregon City this way. Unfortunately, I bought something during a live that didn’t fit when I tried it on when I picked it up. I told the sweet lady working, it didn’t fit me and I would like store credit (I was buying many other things). I was told that there are no returns but Bailey (an owner?) would buy it back from me??  I bet she would.  Sell the item twice and make twice the profit. No thanks. I think this is super poor customer service and unfortunately this is the end of my relationship with this business. It’s not that difficult to give store credit to clothing purchased on a live if it doesn’t fit. Other businesses do this. I won’t be back.

I consigned with this store in October and I'm still angry with myself for allowing them to rip me off. I took in brand new quality items And they purchased a brand new long Columbia coat, Brand new uggs in box, brand new genuine snakeskin booties from nordstrom in box, a long sweater and blouse.  All for $60!  I could have got $60 on ebay for uggs alone but I didn't have the time then to do that so I just accepted their low ball offer. Never again.  I won't even shop there anymore because I just think they're greedy.

Update...they no longer offer the coupon. I had a negative experience recently. The community should support small businesses and women should support other women, so I returned to check things out. They spoke negatively about the other consignment shops! Like THEY  had poor quality items compared to Modao!! Talk about snooty, like the other reviews explained. The woman announced she was the owner. The prices are still high for 2nd hand, gently used.  They obviously don't support the MAJORITY of women shopping/selling there and they don't support the other women small business consignors so I won't continue to support them anymore. I've been shopping there since they were selling FURNITURE with clothes...and it was a mom and daughter team till she had her baby.
BTW...they keep records of all your purchases and if you shop SALES items. I have had the employees comment rudely about this to me. Who knows what else they keep notes on about the customers. It's not like they need the info for returns. Portland has better resale/consignment shops. I withdraw my support from this SNOOTY 2nd hand shop.

(1st review)Good quality but Pricey 2nd hand boutique. They offer a $10 off $30 coupon to everyone for taking clothes in but the price of their item are really high. $40 for an off brand sweater. $70 for used boots. $69 for used Rebecca M purse. They occasionally have sales on their mall prices.

I took some great clothes in from Catherine's plus size a couple of months ago and came out smiling. Yesterday I took in some great clothes, some of which had tags on and was told that they only take "high end" clothing. These were high end and in great condition. Not going back.
