I’ve gone to this location several times and have been well received. I’ve sold in the past without issue, and have found a lot of solid deals over the course of my time shopping here. This location is well organized for the amount of stock it has, the staff is welcoming and personable, and has accommodated me well. The lighting and atmosphere is right on the money making for an enjoyable shopping experience. I typically dread thrifting, but not here.

We just discovered Plato's Closet in Brookfield, and we love it!  We can always find something that looks NEW, and in the COLOR you want, and at an incredible price.  Ava helped my son and I out tonight and she was Awesome!  Their staff is friendly and always  working, the store is always neat, clean, and the racks are full, but the best part for us is that they make our whole shopping experience so laid-back and comfortable. Good store! I like the layout of this one better than the Greenfield store and the clothes are cuter and nicer. A little bit more expensive but the finds are good. I also like that it doesn’t have a limit on the number of items you can take into the dressing room. It’s much more convenient to just try everything on in one go. When I went there was a girl with glasses wearing a bandana I think and she was so sweet. They were also playing Taylor Swift the whole time so I was having a blast. Its 25 minutes from my house but I definitely don’t mind making the drive

I had an amazing experience at Plato’s Closet Brookfield! I was looking for some outfits for my upcoming bachelorette party and was lucky enough to have Elisabeth assist me. She was incredibly helpful and patient, and picked out a few fantastic items! Her fashion sense is spot on! Wow. Just absolutely breathtaking. I love this location so so so much and am happy when I get to take a trip to this store. The staff are all very helpful and in my opinion should not receive the backlash they often do from Lululemon sellers. Even when I am not able to sell my clothes here, the staff are kind and always willing to help. If you work at this location and somehow see this, know that you are doing a great job and don’t listen to any of the angry attacks I’m sure you receive from Karen’s and Ken’s every day. Such a fun environment! We went in the other day looking for some jean shorts for the summer and this lovely young lady (I believe her name is Elizabeth?) helped my daughter get a fitting room and then checked us out. So sweet!

I love this store! They have awesome clothes for a fraction of the price. My favorite thing they do is a 50%, 70%, 90% off and then $6 grab bag every season. Subscribe to their texts, and you’ll never miss a sale! It’s the BEST.

Only thing meh about the store is that it’s a bit loud. Bring earplugs if you get over stimulated, and it’ll be a great experience!

This location has a Great Variety of Brands and Styles in Mens Fashion. Staff was helpful and considerate even tho it was a pretty busy Saturday Afternoon. Do most of the clothes feel like gently used or never worn Christmas gifts for men ages 15 to 45 that you are getting for $10-20, absolutely and that’s why I am a loyal Plato’s Closet Shopper 😇

Truly the best Plato’s closet I have ever been in. I wouldn’t spend your time going to another location even if it’s closer to you. The staff greeted me right away and were extremely helpful throughout my time being there. It is organized and clean. The staff was outstanding, especially a girl named Katie( I believe that’s her name…?). She truly is one of the main reasons the store has such a great vibe. I picked out 3 high quality pieces without trouble. Highly recommend!

I had 3 (huge) bags of clothing I brought in. I was greeted & taken care of promptly. The young ladies were extremely polite. I left my stuff, as per requested & the young lady said it'll be about an hour, lots in front of me. I had absolutely no issues/problems with that.

Got a text message letting me know they were done. I was hopeful they didn't give me a lot back. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. They only took a handful of items out of three (3) of the full garbage bags of folded items I'd brought in. The rest I lugged back to my car.

It wasn't worth the trip, in my opinion & I was a bit disappointed. I had clothing, shoes, plus a few boots. It wasn't gentle used. It was never used. The clothing had price tags on them, as well as the shoes/boots, were in the (original) boxes. Only one pair of boots wasn't. However, they had the price on the bottom of them & weren't worn either. That's why the 3 stars. I give 5 to the young ladies their today. They were busy, but they were professional!

I haven’t bought here, but I sold. It kinda seems like they’re just way overstocked, and barely buy due to that, but they should let you know that ahead of time before you bring in a ton of stuff. Not great customer service, but they were super busy when I went. It’s fine. Just not anything great.

The store was clean and organized which I appreciated. I loved that the sizing was all in the correct spots. Made shopping easy. There was an employee with very short hair that was putting things away on the floor. She was very pleasant and friendly. But the person doing the ringing didn’t even try to act like she cared about customer service. No hi, no did you find what you were looking for, no interaction other than telling me to put my card in and then saying have a nice day in the most monotone voice. I work in retail and when checking out that is usually the lasting impression of a shopping experience. They were also out of bags, and I only knew that because I heard her tell the customer before me. She didn’t tell me at all. Just put my receipt on top of my purchase and slide it my way. Overall could have been better.

I come to plato's closet quite often and am not really the type to leave reviews but the last few experiences have been iffy. I was there probably 2 ish weeks ago and the girl checking me out was younger, short and was really rude and short with me. I made a note of it in my head but let it go.

I decided to come back to get some fall clothes this past weekend, and that same girl was there. I heard her bossing some of the other girls around, and she was on her phone. Her and another employee were also talking at the front by the counter, having their own convo and not helping anyone. The girl checking me out was super nice (99% sure she had ginger/blondish ish hair) but this one specific girl who is there every time I am is just rude. She has light brownish hair, not super long, not super short. She was smaller and looked young.

Not only that but I came across several items that were stained really badly, yet every time I bring my clothes in that are not stained and are good brands, most of it isn't taken. I think they need to revaluate who they hire and get to know current fashion trends.

Took clothes to Plato’s Closet and was told I would get a text in an hour. I waited over two hours and decided to go back to the store. When I arrived my clothes were already in a bin. Much easier to just take things to Good Will and donate.

Thanks for your feedback, Nicole.  We price our clothing and shoes 50-70% less than current retail prices, and because we do sell some very current styles, some of our items are still expensive.  I'm glad to hear you do find great deals most of the times that you visit us!  Hope you come back soon.

This place is a great place to shop for gently use things and namebrand shoes that are lightly worn but for some things the prices are very ridiculous. They want to charge for $60 for some old shoes you can go to finish line to get a brand new pair for that price And then when I bring in clothes that are great spring wear they don’t buy anything. It’s a waste of time to sell clothes to them so if you want to go in and grab a couple items for great prices is a great place to go majority of the time .

Okay place to shop, bad place to sell.  I came in with two boxes of new and like-new plus size clothes and they hardly took anything.  I understand that they wouldn't take everything, but they passed over brand new Lane Bryant dress pants and a number of other nice things.  I'd wondered if this was because most of my clothes were plus-sized, but upon reading other reviews for this location, it seems like this is par for the course regardless of clothing size.  I got a whole $17 for a brand new dress (retailed around $60; I think I paid $15 for it), brand new bag (retailed around $100; I paid around $90), and a couple other items.  I understand they need to make a profit, but yikes.

What really got me about this was that while browsing through the store, I saw a few pieces of clothing with stains on them.  I've sold to stores with a similar business model (Buffalo Exchange, specifically) and they refused to take stained clothing, even if it met their other standards.  Naturally, I assumed that if this store was purchasing stained clothing, they'd snap up the majority of the clean, gently worn clothing I brought in.  Apparently I was wrong.

If you're considering selling your clothing here, I'd recommend skipping it and going to a Buffalo Exchange.  I've had much better luck there, plus you can choose to get your payout in store credit or cash (half as much as the store credit amount).

Despite all this, I did manage to walk away with a cute dress, which is why I gave two stars instead of one.

Oh Sam, as the owner of this store, I am so disappointed to hear that our staff was not working to the training standards that we strive to reflect with each and every customer.  I have shared your comments with our manager, and she is reviewing the shifts that were worked over the past few days.  I am terribly sorry-this is NOT how your experience should ever be, and we WILL do better, even if it means losing some of our current staff.  Thank you for your honesty and for being a long time PC Brookfield customer. 

Yikes… I have brought stuff and bought stuff here for years.  This recent experience was rough.  I am always pleased with whatever they are willing to give me for my items. This experience was rough because of the staff.  One staff was on her phone most of the time.  Majority of them were chatting away about all different topics and when I got to the desk did not stop or even acknowledge me for a few MINUTES. The worst part was when I overheard a staff loudly saying “eww this is ugly!” while sorting items for another customer.  I was appalled! If that was my stuff I would have felt so embarrassed and upset: I was upset for them.  I definitely think I’ll be finding a different resale shop from now on.

I came here to buy some shoes and a few pairs of clothing items, employees were super rude and I didn’t even feel like a person. I was trying on shoes and it just felt like it would’ve been a burden to ask for help, I just ended up leaving and not buying anything. It felt very racist, making me never want to return.

For example, an item that sells for $20.00 at the mall might sell for $6.00-$10.00 at our store, and we would give you $1.80-$3.00. We also try to buy in items that are no more than 18 months old, so the manufacture date on the jeans would be checked. Do not participate in their resale. Went to sell my unused ambercrombie jeans that were 100$ along with a few other things that were name brand and which they took a total of 4 things for 23$ what a joke

Says closes at 6 got there at 5:30 and the workers wanted to leave early so they locked it. Knocked on the door and this female dog just stared at and laughed at my autistic brother

Brought in 2 laundry baskets and they both were returned to me with my clothes messily thrown in so I was left with a complete mess to fold myself.

Plato’s closet is the biggest joke when trying to sell your clothes. DO NOT BOTHER!!!  They take what they want (maybe you need to know someone).  Brought in Madison & Packer clothing and they said they didn’t buy youth clothing(even though I had to return a youth item that was Xl that looked like adult) they said no to everything, when their selection to purchase was beyond awful. Wise up you fools.

If I could give them 0 stars I would selling here is a joke. Tell me how they went through an entire bin in 4 minutes. And half my clothes were still folded on the bottom, they only looked at the top clothes. I know this because the top clothes weren’t folded. I had Lululemon, princess Polly, American eagle, forever 21, Nike, Pink, H&M, Urban Outfitters, and many more brands. Some of these clothes were never worn. I am 16 year old girl and you’re telling me my clothes are not in style. I didn’t realize a Lululemon scuba was not in trend. And that is just one example. You have a better chance of selling your stuff on Facebook marketplace.

The most useless store on the planet. After you drop off your items & spend a 1/2 hour walking around while they look thru everything, they then proceed to tell you they took NOTHING. Why? I checked the website before driving 30 minutes from my home and it stated that they accept all clothing from all year around. Arriving I had a big bin of clothing too small for my child. I checked in at 7:47pm and received a notification text that they were done going thru my items by 8pm. When arriving back into the store my bin did not even look like anything was missing. There are clothes still with tags on them that were not accepted. They offered me $19 for a couple items they decided they wanted out of the bin. It was a waste of time and my items were not even considered. Do not go here!

Hi Megs, We have opened up buying quite a bit and are looking for a lot of fall styles currently. I hope you will give us another chance...we need athletic jackets, denim, heavy outerwear, long sleeves, sweatshirts, athletic pants, and athletic shoes.

Hi Monica, I'm sorry you did not have a good selling experience with our store.  Over the past month, we had limited a lot of categories because our inventory was so high- our customers bring in really great styles, which is wonderful, but then we had too much product on hand.  
I can tell you that right now we are buying in mostly fall items for women-denim, heavy outerwear, long sleeves, sweatshirts, and athletic pants. We also need athletic shoes, casual shoes, purses, jewelry, and dress shoes.  We appreciate freshly laundered items, as this usually eliminates any smells.  
I hope you will give us another chance! 

Don’t recommend and I hate that this is our only location. I bring in so many good clothes just for them to low ball me for it or give a lot of the clothes back to me. Claiming they aren’t in season when I’ve literally only dropped off clothes for the current season. Also, claimed my clothes smelled like smoke twice which one of those times I know for a fact I hadn’t had any smoke around the clothes cause they had been packed and in my car.

worst plato’s closet ever lmaooo. lowkey racist too. came here 3 times & they NEVER look thru my things. how the hell i have 7 bags worth of items & within like 10 minutes, they already “done” going thru my stuff. guess what tho? they didn’t even go thru it bc it look the damn same. shoes weren’t mixed up, my shirt still at the top of the pile, everything just look the damn same like them. i asked the girl why they’re not taking my things bc some of the items are new & she just said “it’s not in style”. girl ur work ethic is NOT in style & ur not professional as well. SHUT THIS PLATOS CLOSET DOWN! i’ve been to other plato’s closet & never got this treatment. period.

We would like to know more about the employees that interacted with you this day, as it is not acceptable and not how our staff is trained.

I had the WORST experience at this Plato's closet. The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me both as a seller and a customer. I asked for a fitting room and the employees were too busy on their phones to even acknowledge me. I heard them trash talking someone's items as they were doing a buy and using profane language. When I went to pick up my items and check out, they only took two items I had brought which was okay, but I was just trying to ask a couple questions and got the most rude and snotty response from the worker. I used to like shopping here but I will not be returning. I tried to call the manager multiple times with no reply. I will be bringing my business elsewhere.

Hi Alexis, Sorry for the late reply, and equally sorry for your experience.  We had tightened our buying for several weeks, as we had way too much inventory, but we have corrected our levels, and are now buying back at normal levels.  Definitely looking for lots of fall items- athletic jackets, denim, heavy outerwear, long sleeves, and sweatshirts.

Don’t bother taking your stuff to Plato’s closet. 2 giant bins of clothes (brands like American Eagle, Adidas, and Vans, including a BRAND NEW pair of Vans) barely worn, no stains or anything, they didn’t take a single thing. I always regret taking clothes there, it’s a waste of time, I’d rather take stuff to the Waukesha Service Club because then at least the money goes towards Waukesha. Awful, and the clothes they DO buy and sell are dirty and ugly as hell.

In order for me to write this review I had to click 1 star.  However you don’t deserve anyyyyy!  My daughter came here to sell some of her unwanted items. First off you need a whole new STAFF! Secondly you don’t know quality items if it slapped you in the face! Lastly how are you still in business. The clothes are like 10 yrs outdated. You don’t get greeted when you enter the store. Those young girls need training in CUSTOMER SERVICE Badddd!!!  I have 3 daughters and if they ever act like those disgusting chicks that work there they’ll have a problem on there hands. Like who raised you to act the way you do?  Which is acting RUDE!!! That store don’t buy any of your items. It’s a waste of time and GAS!  Neverrrrrr again. I hate the SouthRidge location closed because this one is horrible

Owner/Manager-  If I could rate zero stars I would! My daughter and I had the worse experience at this store recently! The females that work at the store have negative attitudes and or customer service skills!  Their loud conversations was ridden with profanity!! I was at the check out and as I was busy putting my number in to look up my Fivestars account an employee that was making a purchase took a shirt from our pile and was taking pictures of it because it was a “fake” etc.  I was livid and I purchased the shirt amongst other things and immediately  went to my vehicle furious. I was too heated not to return the shirt and give the rally of workers a piece of my mind! If you have cameras pull them and you will see who was involved and the interaction!  I’ve tried calling corporate to voice my concerns!!!!

Me my daughter was shopping at this location 3 days ago. I spent over $200 dollars on Nike and Lululemon pants my daughter picked out 2 pairs of pants for my wife. I told the employee I didn't know if they would fit and how the return policy worked she told me to just make sure the tags were on them and to have the card I paid with it if I had to bring them back. I wnt to bring the pants back because they didn't fit. I was told i couldn't return them because I didn't have a receipt.  I told them I just Purchased them. 3 days ago I told them to look it up on my card the manager told me we couldn't do that I explained what I was told when I first purchased them. She told me no that she will not return them and she would not look it up by my card. I asked why she couldn't she responded because I'm not. I will not shop at this location again this location the manager was very rude and Disrespectful an very Unprofessional.

Wow, what a horrible customer service experience I just had. 5 girls behind the counter, 1 girl slowly checking someone out, 6 parties in line to check out,and when asked 2 open another register the girl with the dark brown hair in a bun didn't bother to look up and eventually told people "yeah". Another employee sizing up clothes 4 herself. Very disappointing attitudes

Carly,  We are aware that we have some training to do with our staff, and I apologize for the lack of attention you received at the store.  We are working on training, both in customer service and buys. 

Tonight I came in with a large bag to sell (was not even greeted or looked at by the two girls behind the counter.) they took 2 minutes to look thru my bag (there’s NO way they actually went through everything) and offered $3 for a brand new pair of trendy Nordstrom jeans that I paid over $50 for. Clearly they just didn’t care to look thru my things even tho I was the only person in the store. The girls there would rather chat away than work!

They really need to hire better person reviewing clothes, they consistently not taking a lot of great clothes in great condition such as lululemon, Jordan, Nike shoes that don’t fit me.
I see a lot of clothes they are selling in really bad condition or not stylish at all and sitting for weeks, most of the clothes I brought in I was able to sell by myself on eBay within a week. Never bringing it to them, no point.

Do not bring clothes here. I brought multiple high brand jeans and tshirts and I walked away with pretty much everything. They seem to only take the crappier stuff instead of the good quality stuff. Not to mention, they give you close to nothing compared to what you bought an item for. Also, employees are rude. Seems like their phones are more important than customer service. You’d be better off donating your clothes than bringing them here.
