The best vintage ship I've been to in a while. A great selection: everything was in great condition. The selection was well-organized: it was easy to find items by gender and style, and everything had a price tag and size marked. It's more expensive than most vintage stores I've shipped, however. A shirt and flannel ran me $50. That's ok for me, though, as the experience was worth it.

Amazing quality and curation in the shop! I’ve bought a few items since moving here and have been so happy with all of them.

Found this place by happenstance last year and it has become my favorite vintage shop! Higher prices align with the high quality and abundance of clothes and experience of being in the shop. Very organized and has measurements on the tags.

They also introduced me to Midwest Vintage Flea and I go every year <3

I have been coming to GSS since they first opened up on E Johnson, and I’ve been attending every one of their vintage fleas since first they started having them. I’ve found some of my most prized clothing items at their shop. Many of these pieces I wear on a weekly basis. Their quality is unmatched, and the style options they carry are vast. Whether you’re looking for a statement dress, cozy sweater, or a eclectic tee, Good Style has something. I recommend them to people I meet who are new to Madison, or have been here for years. Their staff are extremely knowledgeable and are able to answer any and all questions I may have on any of the garments they carry.

Great selection and reasonable prices. It’s a small place, so I found some cute things and was in and out pretty quick!

Friendly fun staff that knows quality clothes and always seems to have ICONIC pieces. Also SUPER reasonably priced. Skip depop and check them out whether it be in their cute shop or online!!

I truly eclectic place of original vintage clothing. At very very reasonable prices. Exactly what you'd expect to be in Madison Wisconsin.

I was able to sell some of my vintage clothes from the mid-20th century and earlier. I've collected for years. I got a decent price and was happy to make room in a closet! I'm sure he will make good money on these, they were really special items.

Best shop in town. Most unique but consistenly high quality...truly vintage (everything is from 90s or earlier, nothing re-made to "look" vintage...you always get the real deal!) Also have sold clothes here and the guides are very accurate when they outline the types they take

Terrific shop with loads of snazzy stuff. Went in the other day and easily found 4 shirts that all looked and fit me great. Prices were great for the quality of the items. The proprietor, Pete, was on hand to help me find what I was looking for. Tons of things I almost bought but didn't, just because I couldn't spend too much money that day, but will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Madison.

The staff is lovely, prices are good & great selection of vintage wear. Bought a beautiful long cashmere camel coat for $25! Looking forward to visiting this store again next time I’m in Madison.

Made a special trip to check out this shop’s  vintage inventory and discovered a nicely curated selection of 70’s tops, dresses, and more! The 1960’s are well represented, too.

It feels a little weird to find some of the clothes that I wore in the 90s now marked as vintage, but this shop is the best! Great selection of high quality clothing.  I love how all the items are labeled.  If this weren't Madison, the prices would be at least double! Love this local gem.

I visited this shop while on vacation and I ended up literally coming back twice because of how many pieces I had non-buyers remorse about. I had to go back to get my shades,and this super psychedelic dress with long sleeves and paisley designs. Long story short, I love this place and the price point is very affordable!  Not easy to come by in Fl where I live. I will be visiting again one day. -xoxo

Super cute store with great iconic pieces! If you want a curated thrift store selection I would check out stillgood’s on Willy street as well. They have a lot of interesting options, a wide selection of sizes, it’s a little less expensive, and it’s women owned and operated.

Little spendy but great, quality vintage items.

They have a fun selection of vintage clothing although their prices can be too high occasionally.

I highly advise going in and talking with each one of the seven different owners. I was very discouraged when I first went and brought in two totes of my best stuff as I also do vintage antiques clothing and automotive related items and trinkets, only one thing was bought and I felt like I must be totally out of touch with what's in demand style wise for vintage clothing.

By chance I was next door at the Robin room having a great cocktail, the Hemingway, and I decided to stop in the store because I buy things from there as well for my own wardrobe.  When I noticed it was a different person at the counter I asked about the person that did not want my items.  She told me that if I were to go get the items and bring them back that she would diligently look at them and decide as I showed her a picture of two of the vintage dresses and jackets that went together for ladies '80s clothing she looked excited.

And as I came to be surprised but also kind of in question as she ended up buying almost a full tote of my items at a very decent price.  I came out on top and I know she loved several of the pieces so much I think she said she was going to keep one for herself.

Regardless the point of the story is you might want to go down there with pictures of your stuff and get all seven of the owners emails and email pictures because if you carry and haul all your stuff down there and it just so happens one of the people working that day are not into what you have it is very very possible that the other six owners would most likely be interested in some if not all of your vintage items if you know vintage clothing basics and Madison demand.

We arrived at 5:55pm, an hour before they said they closed online (at 7pm)

Instead of a welcome I was told they would be closing early, and I felt like my presence was inconveniencing the worker. My friends still shopped around but I didn’t feel comfortable digging into or trying on what I saw were some cool pieces.

I’ll be back again because it did seem like a cool shop, I’ll just get there earlier next time.

Great if you’re a size 0-4. To say the selection is non-inclusive is an understatement. There is a large rack for dresses and skirts; I’m a size 6-8 and couldn’t find a single skirt and maybe three dresses that were big enough for me. Obviously this store is allowed to have their niche of clothing for very thin people, but just an FYI that it may be worth skipping if you don’t fit that niche.

Not a great selection and higher priced than it should be.  I tired of hearing the F bomb on the songs that were blasting.

This issue is on my radar and we’ve made several efforts to communicate our return policy since this happened today. We regret the uneasy interaction, and can sure try to offer amends. Returns are new for us since the pandemic, we’re working on it!

My sister and I had a terrible experience visiting the shop today.

We were going to return a few pieces she had bought me as a birthday present that unfortunately didn't work out. My sister asked the sales person how to go about a return/exchange, and was told very rudely that unless the clothes were purchased within the last 7 days, they cannot be returned, no exceptions.

My sister expressly asked back in July when she bought the clothes if they were returnable and was told yes, as long as she had the receipt. There is no way we would have known about the return policy, since it was not made clear at the time of purchase and is not even included on the receipt. Instead of an apology, we were told that we should have checked the website (where I can't even find the store's contact information, much less a return policy). Had we known about the return policy, we would have made it a priority to return within the week, but this was never made clear.

When we asked whether we could sell the pieces back to the shop, we were told that they were out of season and that we would have to wait until spring to even try.

As a first-time customer, I am deeply upset by the treatment we received from Good Style Shop. I understand the need for store policy, but sometimes prioritizing the customer relationship and making things right are more important than sticking to policy. Based on my experience, I will never support this store. All it takes is one bad experience to lose a customer for life.

Awful experience:  I have one owner vintage 50's, 60's, 70's Pendleton, Woolrich, and some late 80's -early 90's Canvasbacks jackets and other lovely items that I really didn't want to drop off at Goodwill. I made at least 5 call/messages in the spring with no call back. The one time someone answered the phone he said owner would be in Fri. PM so I drove 45 min. to Madison. The buyer was not there, took the afternoon off. Drove them home, thought I would try again in the fall. Called last week, left message; again no bother to call back. Fortunately the owner of Stillgoods is interested and I will be taking them to her tomorrow. It wasn't even a 24 hour turn around. Good Style is not getting my business....or my recommendation. Go to Stillgoods on Williamson.

Hey Tarik! Sorry to have come off as rude. Our posted policy of 6 items in the fitting room has to be enforced on busy days so other customers get the chance to try on clothes with their friends. I'm definitely not the violent type, bud.

If you enjoy being treated like a criminal come to the good style shop! My friend was trying on clothes coming out and asking our opinion on each piece then he was almost violently confronted by the shop owner “How many things you got in there bud?” in the middle of trying on clothes. Then while we were purchasing our clothes he was hawk eyeing another customer.    I understand the shop owner is upset by the recent uptick in shoplifting he told us about, but that’s no excuse for the rudeness he exhibited. Based off his responses to other reviews I’m sure he doesn’t care, but I know as someone who has purchased goods from here in the past, I won’t be coming back.

Oof! That was one of the coldest, rudest, passive aggressive experiences I've ever had. the man that seems to run the shop was nasty, nasty, nasty to me. I wish I could give you a snapshot how absolutely horrid he was to me....it was honestly unbelievable. I will not ever recommend this place to anyone and warn them against it because of how rude he was to me. I was actually saving for a beautiful jumper there, and he convinced me that I will never go back.

Went there with my sister Sunday morning and the guy never looked up from his phone to  even acknowledge us much less say hello or good morning . Sat stuck on his phone the whole while..seems like they would have a shoplifting problem when nobody's paying attention .
