If you are looking for quality at a very good price and if you are looking for a bit of history regarding your treasure, this is the only place to come. Jane is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She can tell you a lot about whatever piece you are selecting. There is an extensive selection of wonderful things to choose from. Spending time here is never wasted.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience. After reading reviews, we took note of there being a dog present, which to be honest, was the biggest motivator for visiting. Lily (the fabulous dog) is soooo sweet. She let everyone know that we had arrived with her big dog bark, and then just wanted attention. Not an ounce of aggression from her for even a moment. The owner is the nicest person to sit and have a conversation with. I'm not sure why there are reviews of her being rude?? She's the furthest from being rude. We promised Lily we would bring her a snack so we will definitely be back!!

Owner Response

Thank you very much Mandee. Lily and I thoroughly enjoyed the time you graciously spent with us, and look forward to a return visit!

Beautiful stuff at really fair prices for the very high quality. I appreciate how the store is not stuffed so full you can't see everything as well as the knowledge the owner has and information affixed to each piece with sticky notes!

Owner Response

Thank you very much Sarah for visiting our shop, and taking the time to share your good insights.

Reading many reviews before arriving to this shop, I expected a horrible experience with a rude owner and big, scary dogs; however, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by Janet and her dog Lily. Did Lily bark at me? Yes. Was she just excited to meet someone new? Also yes. People have put out reviews for this shop stating that this dog was horrible, but Lily was very kind and leaves you alone after she sniffs you for a moment. Janet is very knowledgable about every item in the shop, as proven by the sticky notes on each item. Dates and important information are labeled on the sticky note, along with pricing. Why is each cabinet $500+? You're buying actual quality furniture that is dated 100 years old or more. You could get a large cabinet somewhere else with large scratches and gouges, or you could go to Janet's and get it for $600 but in great condition. Janet was also very quick to tell me information about anything I had questions on. You're paying for quality and her knowledge. We all need to remember that quality antiques don't just sell for Facebook Marketplace pricing. This is quality stuff. Thank you for the wonderful experience, Janet and Lily!

Owner Response

Thank you Andrew. We appreciate that you took the time to visit our shop, to learn more about us and then let others know.

This is by far the crème de la crème that Madison has to offer (antiques). Jane Barber, the owner is knowledgeable, meticulous, and personable. Janet's Antiques is one of my favorite places to shop! I concur with other reviews, the dogs get a bad rap. They are the sweetest! You get what you pay for here: quality & reputable people & merchandise.

Owner Response

Thank you very much Willie.

Our house is from the 1860s and we furnished multiple rooms with the help of Janet's antiques. We have lived with some of the furniture for 20 years and have never had an issue with quality.

Owner Response

Thank you John. We strive for good quality and value that brings lasting enjoyment.
