Island Thrift

Island Thrift is a large thrift store located in Centereach, New York. The store offers a diverse inventory across a wide range of categories, from jewelry and luggage to "anything you could imagine." Customers note that the store is well-organized and cleaner than most thrift stores, though some describe it as a little dingy. The layout can be congested at times, especially around the fragile items like crystal and ceramics.
Pricing at Island Thrift is a mixed bag. Some customers feel the store is overpriced, while others highlight the store's special sales and "color of the day" discounts, which allow shoppers to get something gently used and save a fortune. The customer experience also varies, with most reviewers describing the staff as kind and helpful, though one customer felt they treated people like they're there to steal. The fitting rooms can get crowded, and the checkout lines can be long, though the store will usually call for more cashiers to open registers during busy periods.
Despite these occasional challenges, Island Thrift offers a unique shopping experience for local treasure hunters. Customers never know what they will find, and it's described as the best indoor yard sale.

I really enjoy shopping here. They have a very large selection of items and always run special sales and have color of the day items that you get an extra discount on. Why buy something new for full price when you can get something gently used and save a fortune?

Better than other thrift shops, much bigger variety of items, well organized, and a mostly easy layout. There is a lot of congestion and bumper carts right where the crystal and ceramics are making it dangerously likely that breakage will occur.

The store is ok and has a lot of good buys but if you don't go on discount days and don't buy discount colors, they are over priced. I found a bowl that is exactly the same bowl at the dollar store which I bought for 1.25 and island thrift had it for 3.99. Guys you need to do your research and I don't know who is pricing your stuff but you will lose a lot of customers. I heard SAVERS is opening nearby so get your act together. I only go in on discount days! However, I did find some drinking glasses that made up for the ones that broke and it was a steal. So not all bad. P

Very large store with good selection, good prices if you get the markdown of the day and match the color, prices on everything have gone up but still cheaper than retail in most cases.

The selection is pretty good but the prices are through the roof and staff treats people like they’re there to steal. Donated my stroller from 2016 and they wanted over half the original price for it. I was assuming they would make it affordable for someone who needed it considering it’s covered in stickers from Disney and was completely filthy.. the same amount of money they were charging could get you a better stroller in 2022.

Generally quite a pleasant store. As a collector, I usually go there once or twice a month to look at any new inventory they have and I'm usually never disappointed. Kind and helpful employees too. Upkeep is also of greater quality than other stores.

Little dingy, and your cart will get stolen quickly if you don't pay attention. Doesn't surprise me based on the customer clientele they have tho. They do have alot of random cool stuff so worth a look.

Never know what you will find! Don't always have what you might be looking for, but it's the best indoor yard sale!!

Very large thrift store. Prices are high for some items, you could possibly buy them cheaper brand new. Great selection from jewelry to luggage to anything you could imagine. Better organized and cleaner than most thrift stores. Only complaint is high prices for used items.

Good finds. Ok pricing. Frequent discounted days. Furniture guys seem super helpful. No store returns, so it's important to try apparel on. The lines are sometimes very long for the fitting rooms. Line to cashiers are often long, but they will usually call for more cashiers to open registers. Parking seems adequate. Coming in and out of parking lot is the worse part of every visit.
